US shipping
Hi Folks,
just curious if any of you have done this before or are there any other alternatives to this.
1) is it possible to get something ship to a post office in buffalo under your name from other state and then you can just drive down there and pick it up and bring it over the boarder?
2) what are some of the ways to get something shipped across boarder which cost less shipping/taxes/custom fees on used car parts (1pkg around 200lbs)
any other tricks or ways you know of please let me know, or if you want to PM me thats cool as well.
thanks for reading

Use the Edit Button Foo! lol
I get everything I can shipped from USPS... UPS rapes you in the Eh-Noose. I deal from Lightning Motorsports - Home Great people there, they have UPS on site, but call'm and tell them (Mike) that UPS sucks, and you want USPS, they do it.
Your biggest problem is the weight, I think once you get up to that weight, it's a frieght charge from UPS, USPS won't look at it. Chech out Other companies such as DHL (Purolator), FedEx (Same service charge BS as UPS)
I know shipping to P.O. Box's cost more too. UPS does use COD, same with FedEx. FedEx will usually give you your package, then a week later have a nice YOU OWE US $100000000 for a Brokerage Fee.
I've got over $2000 of parts this week, and not a single terrif via USPS. Distributor, valve springs, retianers, wiring kit, pistons, rods, and my EMS.
Trying to buy a transmission?

Lots of info from another forum.
A Canadian's guide to customs, duties, brokerage, shipping, and international orders. - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum
You can get a PO box, but you still might have to pay duty and taxes on the item when bringing it back across the border. Shipping will be much cheaper though. Also, if they are using UPS or whatever, if you pay extra for the expidited shipping, often all the extra fees are included and you wont get stuck with a bill when the item shows up at your door.

Wish I knew of this back in the day when I used to order so many car parts from the US.

so is it okay, if i just tell them at the boarder that i am going across to get my delivery of my refurbish parts, and take my paypal receipt with me as a prof of sale.
and on my way back declare the parts.

I did that when I crossed the border to pick up a Vegas slot machine. And when I came back to the border an hour later to come back into Canada, they didn't even charge me duties on the slot machine...hahaha.
