Turbo envy
I was driving by the dyno located at East Mall near sherway and I figured I'd stop in and find out what his rates were. While I was there this dude had his turbo charged Type R on the dyno. Man the sound of this car was pure sickness with the turbo spoolin and all. I talked to the owner of the car and he told me he had a Mitsubishi turbo running @ 8 lbs of boost and he was putting down something like 230 to the wheels. Man I want a turbo badly.

save your money, and you can have one.
|
ya they aren't all that expensive if you dont care about big names or kits...
|
I friend of mine has a turbo off of a Talon sitting around and I think he wants 200 bucks or something but thats just one piece to the puzzle. Man this car shyte is expensive. Long gone are the days of having extra money, it seems like I work just for my car but I guess thats preety much the same for every enthusiest.

I have a whole bunch of stuff for a homemadeturbo setup. I have 2 turbos (gt17, K03), intercooler, bov, std manifold, misc piping for sale...if interested let me know. I will sell it all for pretty cheap too.
|
Homemade turbo set ups are cheap as hell.
I had a set up drawn up for about $2000. |
and then you woke up and found out you still dont have a car.
|
HAH....this was when I had a car foo :p
|
Hey man.. where you there on Friday in the afternoon?
I was there too. I was the guy that was going into the Go Karting place next door with the black Civic and the red Eclipse. I was sitting on the ground next to the blonde girl. |
I was there around 9 pm or so. How are the go carts @ that place?
|
The go carts are kinda shoddy... .. the old ones.. the new ones are good.
It's VERY easy to kick the back end out on those carts :p |
That's the fun of ProKart......drifting the damn things around.
|
I've been to formula 1 Cartways and their cars are preety sick. Time to check out the place on east mall.
|
Yeah Neetronics is a good dyno place. The go karting next door is cool too. And yes you can drift those mofos like crazy.
You should see some of the cars Paul ( I think that's his name) does. His buddy has an Imprezza RS with almost 400hp. |
that type r is putting out more then 230hp to the wheels, its a full built motor,
you should see what my buddies s4 does on that dyno :p |
Originally posted by blk93si that type r is putting out more then 230hp to the wheels, its a full built motor, you should see what my buddies s4 does on that dyno :p type-r with 8lb of boost is not fully built.....thats prolly a stock r with header/exhaust/turbo(home made setup).......prolly with dsm fuel inj, wallbro feul pump....etc... |

where is this place and does anyone have a number for the place?
|
Last I heard the Neetronic Dyno was broken. He only uses it to run air/fuel runs for tuning but does not get any power figures???
|
Last time I was there (July of last year), He was dynoing a car. So dunno.
I talked to him, seems like a good guy. As for pricing, remember he has a business to run. |
Originally posted by deviant1 he does ecu tuning, but doesnt know **** and charges up the ass, what i can do for 80-100$ he does for 300-400$ so well i dont think hes good, hes an idiot,.....IMO ONLY  |
Naw his dyno is running as far as I know. He's not the only one with a 4 wheel dyno, but one of a small few shops in Ontario.
Paul that's sick. Metalix always has a bunch of crazy cars around their shop. I remember seeing that older Audi A8 (maybe it was an S8) on the hoist. I heard that thing is pushing a crazy amount of power. I want one of the junkers laying around there. Last time I saw some oldschool Corollas, and a Celica All-Trac. Hood me up on a project beater. You always get the good deals hehe. deviant1: Not to be an ass, but what do you base your comment on? Do you have a shop? Do you have a dyno? Are you trained in any way to build up cars? Not trying to be a prick, I'm just curious to know. |
Yeah, sure...the rollers are rolling but as far as it working...I've heard otherwise. He basically just gets cars up on there to do wideband tuning runs (similer to running it on the street, but he can stay in the shop)
