TSX vs Accord?

so the tsx is basically a "european" accord so it looks cool but whats the deal with the engine? you can get an accord coupe or sedan with a 3.0L v6 and 240hp but the tsx you can only get with a K24 and 200 hp

tsx for sure it the european accord, way sportier car then the us version. Maybe better passing power and the highway with the accord but i bet the txs would smoke on a twisty road! Looks much nicer to especially in the back

The TSX is a very nice looking car with or without the number of horses it puts out.

the only thing im not fond with the 6spd is the reverse.....

its so close to 6th, it sometimes feels like when ur shifting into 6th that u can accidently hit reverse... but i know that wont happen....

they should do something like VW... POP it down

i'm pretty sure honda would still use the reverse lock out when your coming from 5th or something...

but ya i drove the tsx earlier this week and it was ok... nothing to really get my panties wet though... and sure it looks nice but for 35K i'm not thinking the value is there... compared to other cars in that price range anyways ie wrx or is300

Another reason may be because Honda doesn't want the TSX to steal any sales from the Accord. If both cars were offered with a V6 then the TSX may grab some sales of the Accord. Yes, they're still making money but then Honda couldn't claim that the Accord was up there in best selling mid-sized cars anymore.

For the reverse issue, there is a lock out for reverse so, no worries there. There isn't a lock out for 2nd however, so be careful downshifting from 5th to 4th.

Honda, actually Acura has had 6-speed manuals on V-6 from the 2002 CL Type S. This one has LSD which the Accord doesn't.

TSX is also the JDM Accord, not just European and I believe the Euro R is only for Japan. However, Europe just got a new diesel engine which is supposedly the sportiest Accord there. The interior of all Accords are similar and the TSX is upgraded. I much prefer the TSX interior. Actually, I prefer the TSX over the Accord, period.

Punk, Yes, the Accord V-6 has more horsepower but not everything is down to horsepower. You can argue the Cavalier has more horsepower than a Civic but they are not the same car.

How about comparing horsepower of the TSX to the BMW 3 Series. The only ones with more power are the 3.0+ litre versions but the price of the TSX is comparable to the cheapest 3 Series....

To be honest, I prefer driving the Accord L-4 over the V-6. The 4 cylinder, I find is better balanced and more fun to drive. The TSX, with a 6 speed is that much more fun with more power than the L-4 Accord, better brakes, suspension and smaller size.

Why is the TSX more expensive that Accord? 1. better interior, 2. bigger wheel/tires, 3. lower volume (this is actually a big factor) 4. made in Japan....
