how much does it cost to fix.... gears fahked up... automatic car... anyone know a good place.. deals... etc..

and thats if the mechanic does it on the side

From my experience it's costs almost as much to fix a tranny as it does to get a replacement. Most places won't give you any sort of guarantee after fixing it for you either, so it could break down again a month from now, and you'd be SOL. Normally I'd just go to the wreckers and pick one up there. You can usually get a really good deal. Only problem with that is that you've got to install it yourself, or pay someone else.

I dunno. That's just me though. I've always been a do-it yourself kinda person. I'm not sure how things like this work in TO, since I'm not from around there.

Just presenting another option.

My mom had an 88 mazda 626 with an auto tranny that wouldnt go in reverse, we paid like 2gs to get it fixed, and a year later it konked out again, prolly better off getting a replacement.

My brother has a protege 5 that is stick and it grinds in 3rd gear. It pays to buy the extended warranty. It is safe to say that protege's have trannie problems.

protoge's had tranny and motor problems.
if u still got warranty its a free replacement.
if u dont then ur ****ed
lol
not worth fixing the tranny either cuz it will **** up again
