Timing Light

Thinking of getting a timing light, so that I can start doing my own tune ups. I've see a few at Canadiantire from $50 to $150. A quick search online I was able to see ones going for up to $500. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but do want something to get the job done right. Anyone have an recommendations?

Hey man. To be honest, I'm not quite sure. I have a 97 SI, stock engine. I just want the timing light so that I can start to do my own tune-ups. I'm planning on going to a B20/vtec in the next year or so. Not anytime soon, but adding a turbo or doing a turbo track car is something I'd like to do down the road.

I haven't found much info on the web besides this, http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/timing/timing.php. How may different types of timing guns are out there? Any preferred models for working on Honda engines? Just trying to make sure I buy the right tool for the job. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I think I'm going to get the Equus 5568, http://www.iequus.com/product_info.p...tegory_id=1_20

I've seen them online for a little over $100. By any chance has anyone every use one of these? Or know of something better?
