Timing Belt

Hey guys ive got a 2000 civic si, with 120,000kms on it and i was just wondering when i should get the timing belt replaced? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you should get them changed around 100-120,xxx

thanks man. . if i were to replace that and the water pump, how much am i looking at spending?

parts are cheap (100bucks or so) labour is between 200 and 600bucks depending on where you go

timing belt.

go to the affiliates. I got mine done at Defconracing.

great job. and cheap.

ya i called up defcon, he said it would be about 400. . . i guess ill take it over there once im done exams, thanks guys

you should get the parts from the dealer, but paying dealer labor costs ... damn, not worth it at all. i just did my timing belt and water pump and i bought the pump from the dealer and the belt from Parts Source ... oh and i also replaced the cam and crank seals from the dealer ... belt was 40-50 and waterpump and seals were 140 ... labour costs were 100 cuz i know a garage ...

but im thinking of taking your suggestion of buying the parts from honda and getting defcon to just replace it
