TCC, A CLUB DISPLACED...
Although impressed with the turnout tonight the club doesn't seem to work at that space. Jeff said basically the cops would let us stay tonight but didn't want to see us back again....
So, we are stuck again looking for a suitable PERMANENT spot.
A few ideas...
1. Lets look at somewhere other than a donut shop. Although good when you are hungry, police like to frequent donut shops (like you didn't know). The Yorkies tonight were pretty tame and understood our plight but were unimpressed none the less. Even though Alan made a valiant attempt to plead our case..
2. PRIVATE property is the only place where were not gonna get harassed. These spaces have become elusive but we need to collectively seek one or many out..People start looking now. Ask relatives, bosses anyone with enough space to hold a meet on private property..This appears to be the only solution
3. Some people insist on smoking Phatties at the meetings. This has to stop altogether. If you want to smoke up do it elsewhere. We have enough problems meeting already. We don't want to give the impression of a car club with a drug problem. I realize this a small majority but it makes us all look bad.
4. York region meets need to be scrapped. The cops there just don't get it. Strange after some name dropping by Alan the cop changed his tone. But we can't rely on Alan to try and set the record straight everytime. This is not his job. We need to elect an spokesperson and a backup to deal with these issues when they arise.
5. Please add your thoughts and feelings to this thread.Collective brainstorming is the only way were gonna find our way through this. We have alot of smart people here, lets use some of that brainpower..
Your 2 cents are needed.....

Cops came then left...
Then came back again...
Gave us the street racing speech...
And basically hung out with us in the parking lot....
I left at about 10:30..
I dunno what happened after that...

Most members complained about meeting in York Region...
I think the closer too T.O the better...
Country roads aren't the best for paint either...
Good idea though...
Keep em coming..
Nothing is right or wrong just brainstorming...

I think that would be loitering...
Timmies is different cause its open to the public at night...
Most members have a coffee or something from there...
So cops can't really say much...

What I'm actually interested in hearing is whether anyone got a ticket..
I totally understand why the police were there though. Look at the street that Timmies was on. It was a bit over a quarter mile, empty and no lights. I don't think they were worried about us sitting there, they were worried that we would head to that street and race. In their eyes we're all racers, but a majority of us are actually just ricers.
When Allan's police friend came over after talking to the police in the car he said that the police officer said that he'll be sitting at Kennedy and Steeles and pulling over who ever he wants. Did anyone gets pulled over for doing anything non-stupid around that area? Allan's friend himself said that that cop was a rookie and was itching to give out tickets. We could run into a cop like that anywhere.
Look at the first officer that came and gave that nice little speech about not racing and being careful with our lowered cars. He even joked around about racing one of the people's Lumina's or something. Not all cops are '******'.
Sure the police are there, but as long as we don't do anything wrong I don't see a problem with them staying there all night. As a matter of fact, it might be a good thing. With the club growing at the exponential rate it is, who are we to complain about free security? We should give them an open invitation to come to the meet and sit in their cars and watch us. Not only will that keep us in line, it will show the police that we are just a social club and not all racers. And if we can change the opinion of a couple of cops that way, that means we have a few less cops to worry about on the streets pulling us over for no reason.
Allan's friend also says that in Scarborough (Kennedy Commons, Vic Park and Eglinton) that the police are pretty much instructed to pull over Civics because of a certain sort of cultural gang that are in that area a lot. So in essence we are just as likely to get pulled over there, as we are here in Markham/York.
The parking lot we were in was Private Property according to Allan's friend. So that's not a huge issue either, and the Timmies employees didn't seem to care because for once they were actually getting business.
If someone got a ticket for no reason, then I'll shut up! But in the meantime, I thought we had an excellent turnout and anywhere we have a turnout this large we will draw attention. At least here the police didn't force us out or say anything bad for that matter - the meet they had in Oshawa had much more severe problems.
Anyways, I've gone on for long enough and I'm sure I could go on for more... But I won't! I think we should give this meet location once more chance and work from there. I get this feeling that now that the police saw that we didn't do anything, they won't send 7 cars. Maybe one or two, but as I stated above - that's not a bad thing.

THATS THE EXACT REASON I SAID NO WAY IN HELL IM COMMING...
I replied to the im comming post before i noticed the meet location change...then i recall that being york region...and that Crown and 14th a old local race area is just around the corner...and we are all going to get raped by cops...I will no longer be comming to meets if it is going to involve York Region PD

400 and 7 doesn't work either I think as people on the boards have had their cars jacked there and I think the theaters would probably kick us out as well.
It's too bad that the kennedy commons and now and ken and 14th isn't working out.
I say give it another week but I am really unsure we'll ever please the deeds speak cruisers.
I agree closer to T.O. is the only place that seems to find a happy medium so every from west east and north....ever though this meet was closer to my house

What about Serena Gundy/Sunnybrook Park (Right behind Sunnybrook Hospital)? Its at Eglinton and Leslie (just west of the DVP). There are a couple huge parking lots in the park and we probably wouldn't attract any heat as the lots aren't close to the main roads. The lots are empty at night. Only problem is that it would be kind of a drive for some members.

The problem with that idea is that cops often patrol sites like that for parkers or people doing drugs...so, it'll be the same thing anywhere else...my suggestion, although it's kinda impossible is, to have it at someone's house...sounds stupid I know but, seems like a viable solution if there weren't so many people in the club like the turn out yesterday. Any bloody rich people out there with 1+ acker driveways and willing to host to 50 to 80 people? hahaha...

What about a company's parking lot..? There has to be plenty around 404 and 401.....that seems pretty central. Lots of tim horton's and pubs.
