I always leave mine in neutral ... On hills first gear...

However is a good practice to leave it in first or reverse ... I just have a bad habit , once i forgot to put the hand brake and my car was in the middle of the road , so yea try to make a habit to leave it in gear... I tried to make a habit but i kept forgetting my car was in gear when i went to started so i kept stalling LOL

Neutral if the car is going to be parked for a while like in storage or for months etc... to take the strain off the transmission/engine.

Otherwise in first or reverse at all other times.

Supposed to set the e-brake or 'parking brake' first, then put it in gear. That way the brake holds the car, not the engine/tranny.

E Portugues! I'm first gear always, had a bit of a problem before with my parking brake and learned that leaving it in gear doesn't hurt.

I always cringe when I see people not use the parking brake and the car rolls. Nothing like a nice tranny massage haha.

You use the remote starter all year round?
When I used to have one, I only used it in the winter.

Keeping your foot on the clutch with the engine running for prolonged periods of time can ware out the release bearing.

i always leave it in gear regardlress whether its uphill or flat. when i park up, i am still on the clutch, ebrake and turn motor off that way ebrake is holding the car and not the transmission.
Also, welcome to TCC

Should always leave it in 1st or reverse, and add the parking brake on hills.
