Talking Strolling thru the dealer one day..

Hey Guys...

Your favorite non Honda drivin' VW Corrado ownin' member is back with some questions...

Basically it boils down to the newer '03 or '04 Civic SiR hatchbacks...In all honestly...what do you guys think of them? Performance, quality, economy...etc..I had a chance to sit in one tonite, while at a dealership to look at a '00 SiR, and thought it isn't that bad...I mean the outside takes some getting used to...but with the JDM Type R body kit, and with it in white, that should be much better

Have any of you guys tried them out? or actually own one?? I am gonna try and take one for a spin on saturday and see how its like when moving...The shifter at first looks odd...but places very well while shifting..the interior is pretty good..the seats are amazing IMO, and that 160HP i Vtec, must be nice (is that the K20A motor?) I have been reading as much as I can about these cars on the net, as well.

I still am in the process of looking for stock '00 SIR's low km's good price...etc...but if the search ends up empty...I might look at the '04's since I guess dealerships are having a hard time selling them cause their radical styling. I don't mind being different...or so I am told for driving a Corrado...

Anyways..as always your opinions are always welcome, and much appreciated.

Take care,

Mike (aka Corrado2nv)

Go for it.

I believe the engine is K20A3, K20A is the Japanese version. RSX Type S uses K20A2.

I would suggest if you get an 04 that you replace the taillights with the 02-03 style. The seats are really comfy and there an awesome little car. Pm SiR_Yo and ask him about his.

Great ....Thanks for all the info sofar guys...I will look into the taillight situation..agreed..I prefer the 02-03 tails..instead of the '04's....good point about the seats too...they are nice...

And as for the engine codes...thanks...I appreciate it...I get confused with all the numbers....its like algebra all over again..

Keep it coming..

Cheers

Mike

hmmm you had/have a corrado? then the ep3's aint gonna tickle your fancy for speed... stock wise they handle nice, with aftermarket suspension upgrade they're like go-karts.... then again I've gone all out on a lot of aspects on my car... get the 04... 5 lug, auto up window's etc.... although I'm sure you can get your hands on a 03 for a good finance rate (I did that last year but with an 02) ... come out to this wed's meet if you wanna see one in person that's done up JDM wise... I was really wanting the white when I was lookin' but settled for black.. but I don't regret it at all...
