So? that has nothing to do with car safetly.

Just because they are stronger then metal means ****.

On the sale, or if you get CF doors it will say ONLY for track use.
Why CF doors aren't safe as metal doors? they don't fold to absord impact.

All they will do is most likely brake the latch and pop out with minor scuff, etc..

You don't see CF bend like metal does so that's why if you get into a front end accident metal doors will absorb the imapact and fold.

simple right?

Cf shatters I believe, into pieces - small and large. You need a helmet and a suit plus a well designed cage to you can avoid these pieces flying left right and centre.

That's how I see it.

I'm not saying i'm against it.i only did it once when i went to track.ran full interior and then gutted.difference? not really. i could understand if u want that mean serious ready for whatever look but other that no gain my 2 cents.
It only really matters in drag racing where every 10th counts..

from what I heard and read...yes it shatters but depending on how hard the hit is and where. If you get hit front end with CF doors, frame will crumple but depending on the structure of the CF doors itself they might pop out of the latches or crack. I've seen broken CF after car accidents so yes it does brake but it dosen't absorbe shock and impact as metal does in a collision.

well made cf doesnt shatter into pieces.
the most it will do is crack from its fibreglass skeleton.

and what the other guy was saying is correct. cf does not absorb impact and therefore its dangerous as the g forces continue to flow thru the car into the driver from an accident which could pretty much kill a driver.

That's why, a strong cage will and should absorb the impacts, provided you are strap down in your seat with a helmet.

I gutted my rear, accelerated a tad better, felt so light but I couldn't stand the road noise and put everything back together. I even polished the exposed panels, looked so good.

Fred, come on, little road noise is good, in a sense you can pick up any abnormal sounds from the car, easier to detect.

I just got a pair of front seats yesterday. I was thinking about gutting the back but didn't think the road noices were that bad...now I'm second guessing it.

I agree. But the noise can get annoying if you have a headache.

I think I'll strip it, see how bad it is, then make a decision.

If you drive my car everyday, you will get a headache. With a stock engine mount, you can barely hear anything.

I just took out my rear seats and the two side panels. The road noise isn't bad what so ever. I didn't take it on the hwy though, so hopefully the trip to CSCS will be okay. Also the weight difference isn't noticeable when you drive. But on the bright side, I found around 6 bucks in change!
