What does having a modded car have to do with getting a full car look over for a peanut bulb and a insurance card that was expired, even though I found the right one as the cop drove away... On top of that I had 3 other not expired insurance cards for my other cars that he wouldn't even accept, same policy number and everything.

The reason I said my civic would get raped is because it's turbo'd not because it's a danger on the road, hell I haven't driven it on the streets in like 3 months

A burnt out LP bulb and not having a valid insurance card are still offenses under the H.T.A. A turbo civic shouldn't be a issue *IF* it's 100% legal. You still need to have an insurance card for that vehicle. Sure it may have the same policy # as your other vehicles, but it won't fly. TRUST ME on that one.

This is almost like the RIDE program. Everyone gets stopped even the people who don't drink. Now if the cop smells booze or other on you your basically up the **** creek. Trust me I've seen a few ppl pulled over for failing a RIDE program on 16th Ave near the 404.

Everyone wants power... but only those that can keep themselves from testing its true strength are worthy of it.

not everyone street races, and to me the majority of people i see racing, are young kids in thier parents mini van trying to be cool, listening to 50cent blarring out stock speakers.stupid sh*t like that.

but i think its unfair how "non" street racers get burned for all the mistakes that dumb kids make by racing. not cool......& they build drag strips for a reason.

If the cops really want to do something about drinking and driving they would just need to enforce it where its hottest, go downtown to the night clubs and bars, catch people before they get on the road.

its no secret that almost every group of people that goes out to party or clubbing has atleast 1 drunk driver, almost 85% of the people are drunk or not fit to drive but they still do. The police are there helping the bouncers out but they dont care about the drinking and driving.

Now for the street racing its most likely random and just form light to light which is hard to catch the Hot spot for the modifiers being the timmys is just a poor excuse for them to bother people and bring in the fines until they reach their quotas. find the racers, trafic impeders, dangerous drivers and in the process dont harm any by standers like the regular car enthusiust.

One of the principles in police foundations is the tip of the iceberg and learning not judge on appearance, which is hard to grasp for outstanding moral peace keepers, which is why people continue to hate the police and still have no faith in them. instead they need to show by example and do the right thing the right way.

in order to spot cop cruisers all you have to do is look for the most crooked or sneaky looking car on the road, all they do is hide or stalk other drivers. breaking all the rules of the road in the name of the law. uturns, speeding, careless control of their vehicles, cutting in and out of traffic for no apparent reason.
ignorant and rude attitude. the list goes on, its not just that they target certain ttypes of genders, race, age and looks itsa bunch of stuff that adds up which why citizens just really hate them.

Why dont they work together with the enthusiasts to help raise awreness and responsibility of car modifying and racing instead of just slamming the hammer and pointing fingers. What you resist will persist

for the car enthusiast ...

dont drive like an idiot
make sure you carry all up to date documentation
do a vehicle inspection, make sure everything is working
try to ensure your mods meet the HTA regulations
i guess thats all i can suggest...

all you can really do, this shiit isnt going away

+ if you do not streetrace why should you be worried?

sure our cars make us the perfect candidates for profiling...but if you have nothing to hide who cares?

Has anyone here actually learned what the term 'propaganda' means ? There was an article in the Star this weekend by a few intelligent writers, who pointed out one big problem with the recent 'propaganda' related to street racing. There were 225 deaths on Ontario roads this year (Jan 1 to July 2) according to OPP stats. Only 8 were considered to be related to street racing.

Where is the blitz on the other 218 deaths? No 'Cell Phone Blitz'? How about 'Sleepy Driver Blitz'?

I was going to stop by Sunday night to meet up with some friends but at glen erin/burnhamthrope spotted.

Charger pulling over some mazda.
Cop in the opposite lane with another cruiser behind him.. and another cruiser coming up to the light behind me.

Needless to say I was sweating bullets and skipped the 403.

i dont hang out there so i dont really care but iv been in a buddys car twice when he got pulled over and the attitude of these cops is ridiculous. Iv lost all respect for police (lost it all a few years ago), the idiots will never stop streetracing wether any of you wanna hear it or not. Streetracing and people driving like dicks on the streets is two different things. how many deaths have happend at an actual streetrace? im talking about a industrial area where people have it all set up? now that is streetracing, these idiots killing people racing on the busy roads arnt streetracers. there idiots and WRECKLESS drivers, again not streetracers. My best advice is to keep a video/tape recorder in your car for when your pulled over, cause what iv heard come out of some of these cops mouths is ridiculous and id love for a judge to hear some of this nonsence. Also know your rights and the way the legal system works. *** the police
