Storing Car...yadda yadda...

I've already read the threads regarding this but I have one question....Whats the deal with removing the wheels...? Whats wrong with putting the stealies back on??? Are they really going to warp?? its steal!!!!

How many people here take their tires off?? How many leave them on ? *shrug*

sitting on the tires for months will make flat spots in the rubber...

roll the car in and put folded blankets or towels under the tires if your worried about it... if not, who cares...

i used to take the tires off and put it up on blocks every winter. but its a pain in the *** if your cars low (i need 2 differnt jacks. one to get it high enuff to use my hydraulic) so now i just leave it and once a month on a nice dry day i take it for a boot then put it back and thorw the cover back on.

its bad to leave it on jack stands cause then your shocks hang and leaving them hanging is bad for the shock(ie. when u buy new shocks the come compressed) so leaving on some **** rims and tires is the way to go!!!

taking the car out once a month could accually do more damage to the car than leaving it all winter sitting there... there was a thread about this before last winter... bbarbulo was talling me this aswell... if you are going to store it, its best for the car if you just leave it the whole time...

outside. yes. do not use a tarp as they can not breathe. water gets under it and stays.

inside. no. use a car cover and for extra protection put some thick blankets on it to. thats what I do.

especially if you got a new paintjob recently before storing.
basically the car cover will leave an imprint of its weave over the storage period. reason being moisture, change in climate, undisturbed conditions etc....

When a car is running for a short period, it cannot fully heat up and condensation forms in the exhaust system. The mosture does not evaporate and you can kiss yer exhaust and early g'bye!
There may be other reasons, but I'm not that smart !! lol
