yea thats bull**** man, i used to be so paranoid leaving my car running in my driveway or on the road i did the same i used a 2nd key in my wallet always n just locked the door after i started it, plus its helped me before when i locked my keys in my car. that really sucks to see them driving away in ur car, i remember when i was like 11 or 12, i went to return a video game to this place i always locked my bike up the one time i dont, right infront of the door i heard some rattling as i gave the guy the game i went outside saw some ****er riding away on my bike, never found it either i had it for like 6 days

we live in a big city full of good and bad people.. i think its up to you to protect your property by locking it and securing it, not up to the general population to take care of your property when you are neglectful of it..

yeah, it would be nice if everyone had respect for others' property. the fact is that you were neglectful and careless, and now there will be some cheap EL parts available on the market.

neglectful and careless eh ERTW? really? you're gonna kick a man you've never met while he's down?

Dude, this man just had his car stolen. You, like the rest of the world, occasionally leave your keys in the car when jumping out to: pay for gas, drop a letter in the mailbox, etc. It's not neglectful. It's not careless. Too trusting, perhaps.

Insulting someone in their own stolen-car thread... unbelievable. I guess you haven't written your PEng Ethics exam, eh ERTW..

if not neglectful or careless, its naive. I am not kicking anyone while they are down, but why cry about getting your car stolen if you basically invited the thief into it?

and what ethics have i broken by being a realist? i didnt inslut anyone, he participated in his car getting stolen and that is an undisputable fact.. he left the keys for the theif in the ignition and his engine on.. it doest get easier for a thief

lets all learn a lesson: dont encourage thiefs

ohhh your lucky man ... glad u got your whip back with no BS

just for anyone reading this later .. this same thing happend to my friend let me tell you insurance will put up a major fight in this situation. there is some clause that they don't have to pay you for your loss if you haven't taken proper descretion in keeping your car safe. keys in it is not safe.
lets face it we have all done this, left the car running while its warming up, run into to the store or what not. Considering most people have there heart and soul in there car with mods and what not ... leaving it running is kinda dumb NO?

use the second key scenerio... lock while runnin ...
smooth move IMO

good job rich ! Hopefully that is all that is actually wrong with it !

As for his scenario, u think its only like 10 seconds to get a pack of smokes, thats nothing, but 10 seconds to a robber is already backed up and outta the parking down the street.
