well, its still a civic, so its still great on gas, and its cheap to fix.. keep it... i have a 97 with 266 000 on the body, i doubt i can get much for it, though i keep telling myself im going to sell it, it just doesn't make sense.

soon it will need balljoints, timing belt, water pump etc etc.

im going to probably drive it to the ground.

honestly you could probably find and engine and get it swapped for less then 1g.
I understand your frusteration.
Next time you decide to something like this and your ok with it, dont post up so much info on a local forum. Be more low key

with the H22 you will need a lot of different parts. It will cost you a lot later on..

And you lose P/S, A/C.
I blew my motor not too long ago and i called a lot of different shop for pricing. And they all don't recommend H22 swap.

Just go SIR is the cheapest B swap

yah, you'll need more than just the motor, but i still think they would be worth it in the end... yummm...... torque...

you can pick up a d series for under $500 and then about $500 labour and your set.
How about you patch the hole in the floor instead of getting a b.
You could just leave the hole and say *** it to the engine and do it bedrock style!

lol this is a funny thread..You don't even know if you bent any valves and you're already talking about doing a motor swap.

How does your mechanic know is a timing belt?

"hey mechanic, my car stalled on me and doesn't start"

"must be the timing belt, give me $900 and i'll fix it"

Typical honda driver... lol

id rather my mechanic tell me the worst possible scenario of what it COULD of been instead of him tellin me its gonna be the distributor coil and its only gonna be 100 bucks and it ends up being the timing belt...

theres way to check (with a voltmeter) if the distributor is messed up. that costs nothing.
what good is your mechanic telling your the worst thing that could be wrong? if its the timing belt you still gotta pay to replace it and if a valve is bent then thats money wasted. if you REALLY need a car so bad then ya get a cheap *** engine and drop it in. if you dont need a car really bad then sell what you got and save up money. hopefully you have a job. and if you still live at home you should be able to save up money pretty quick. 2-3g's can get you a decent 96-98 ek hatch. it will probably have quarters full of plastic but its better than holes in the floor.
