Someone help... Got letter from the court.... Whats it mean..

Ok so I filed a traffic ticket for trial and got this in the mail, about a month later.

"Thank you for your correspondence regarding the ticket you received under the Provincial Offences Act.

As the original Certificate of Offence was not received by the Provincial Offences Office, your request for a trial cannot be accepted.

The provincial offences act provides that the enforcement officer may re-serve the Offence Notice at a later date."

The offence was December 7th and I got the date of the letter was January 22nd. So the officer hasnt filed the ticket for over a month and a half I guess. The court said they got six months to file it, otherwise its gone.

Whats the reason they wouldnt file it, did they simply forget, do they usually do this? Does it happen often?
Also lets say they file it in June, then my court date comes out a year after....Will my offence only be on record for a year and a half if I lose, since already a year and a half has passed.

Also I just recently had a ticket dropped because the court date was 14 months after offence date. Would it apply here to if she files the ticket in lets say 4 months, and my court comes 9 months after that, ....Would that make it 6+9 = 15 months already... Or does the one year start from when the officer files the ticket lol?

Help.

the record is 3 years after the CONVICTION date, not the date of offense. so if it does go to court and you lose, it's 3 years from THAT date.

as for statute of limitations I believe (but can't confirm) that it starts from the date of the offense.

you slipped between the cracks of the law, just let it be and hope not to get served with the notice later. hopefully he gets busy and forgets about you. good luck
