So much for TCC not ........

Hello Again Cluster ,
It seems that we have a bit of a situation on our hands again doesn't it .
1. I will be watrching th footage from the show and if it is found that a TCC paid is shown Street Racing he/she will be dealt with , this is something you will not have to worry about.
2. It seems that the way that you approached things is what has caused such an issue. Many of the members on the board were waiting to see what kind of story the CTV show would present. Unfortunately from what I hear so far it was somewhat biased. Beyond that their is not much we can do but let everyone in the club know that when they are out on the streets with TCC stickers on their cars they are representing the club and should act accordingly.
3. I am not here to bash you . I am not here to flame you . I am here to respond on behalf of the group. If you don't like the way the club is represented then by all means do whatever is necessary to distance yourself from us. I would not want you to have any problems due to being affiliated with a club that is not up to your standards.
If their is anything else you may want to bring please do so . I would be very happy to answer any issues you have with the club. Your best bet though so that there are less problems would be to PM me instead of launching a thread that could be seen as inflamatory .
Sincerely,
Neil
BTW , I would appreciate if the other members on the board would leave Cluster alone until he comes to a decision on what he wishes to do . I will try and help where I can .
Thanx in advance ...

Okay look....I have read 3 pages on a news piece that most likely didn't last this long. I haven't watched it, but basically from what I can tell - based on others I have met and my personal experiences...it doesn't help the club if the racers were TCC members (mind you, they won't be for long)....even if they aren't....anyone who drives a Civic, Supra, Celica, Neon,....even a slightly modified Corolla and/or Matrix will have a cop take a second look at. At this point, being a member of TCC doesn't help and it doesn't hurt. It isn't the first time racers are portraited as bad on TV. Bashing people who customise their rides is as bad as someone saying that if you increase the speed limit to 120 km/h will double the fatality rate on major highways.
You know its bullshit, I know its bullshit and anyone who owns a modified car knows it bullshit. There is a small % of people who race, but the majority get shafted for it.
Get used to it....its life. If it isn't cars, race, colour, culture, social status, etc....it will always be something else.
I think that TCC stands for more than just a group of people who enjoy modifying their cars. Once you realize that....the rest will not bother you.
Like my Dad always says. "Keep your head up and your nose clean, and there is NOTHING that anyone can do to you."
...and that is my 2.5 cents.

"i saw it, and i wasn't in it..........."
let me ask you..... how many blue 4 door 4th Gen civics with a spolier exist in toronto?
as for grouping all civics together... you didn't....but you did make an assumption that just because the civics had stickers on it and were racing, that they were part of TCC....
Now onto your comment about the drugs and alcohol
I couldn't agree with you more. Countless lives have been lost because someone didn't say "give me your keys"
Now i apoligize for the consistant "bash cluster threads"....but when you come on posting facetious remarks from the hip....certanly people are not going to see your 'good intentions' and react a lil defensively...it's not special cluster treatment....it's anyone who posts these types of remarks..gets this type of reaction....
you are a senior member of team Iapec...so from now on, i think it would be best if you handle what goes on in your club....and we'll handle what goes on in ours.
But, Thank you for your 'outside point of view'
feel free to drop by and say hi once in a while, and we'll do the same

I think everyone has a chance to say a bit.
I don't think this is going anywhere productive.
Can we all get on with the rest of our day, before everyone gets so frustrated they decide to cut off a 18-wheeler on the 401 today?
I don't know about anyone else, but I have a meet to look forward to tonight.

This club is great because everyone's so cool and friendly. It's disturbing to read through the posts on this thread... no matter who posted them. Some posts are downright rude and harsh. We all know we wouldn't cut each other up and argue like this in person.
BTW, I know that I didn't have to read this thread or any of it's posts, but I did, so shoot me.

you know what? I don't mind a little chaos every now and then, if everything was all dandy this board would definetely be unreal.
you have to understand, with clusters comments and his responses, he's just defending his own beliefs and you can't bash him for that really, because it's his own opinion (just like how various other members has been treating it).
it's an issue we've talked about as a club before, and if you really take a step back and see clusters view and see our TCC life (meaning regulations and our msg board), you may find something specific to what cluster is on about.....
just think about it....

...but, the way everyone has ganged up on him in response to his comments is unfair, whether he's right or wrong. I'd be defensive as well. Although, with some of the vulgar language he used and offensive comments he made, at times, he was asking for it.
I, for one, do not adhere to this type of conduct. If we've got anything nasty to say to each other, we should do it in person.

Back to the news report itself,
I managed to get home from work in time to watch it last night. Just as I suspected, they filmed the Woodbine/16th part a few weeks ago when I was there. It just goes to show how the media can portray whatever image they want just by talking to the wrong people and only showing the idiots in that parking lot. For example, me and some of my friends were there just chillin, not looking for a race, not doing burnouts, and not playing loud music. Of course what we do (as well as many others) doesn't make for an interesting news story, so the media seeks out the idiots and uses them to create their own image of what we are all like. Of course, I don't support or participate in illegal street racing of any kind and agree that it is a problem, however I do not agree with the media creating an image that all of us that modify our cars, or hang out in donut shop parking lots are street racers.
Just my 2 cents.

But yeah, you're right, offensive language is asking for trouble but what the hey, this is a virtual conference, I can say I'm a girl and you wouldn't know unless you've seen me at a meet
and no I'M NOT A GIRL

I think it's fair to say that we all agree to the fact that it was a lousy report.
Why don't we just leave it at that?
I vote this thread to be deleted.
Anyone else?
