If I were you I would get either the EP3 or the ek hatch.

The ek SiR is nice too, but always getting stolen, it was the most stolen car last year I believe. I'd rather have an ek hatch and eventually swap it, similar end result anyways.

If you find a nice SiR, you definitely won't regret it (except for the lack of torque). But I kinda like the hatch too. Saw a nice 2000 @ Image for 8K W with 124000 5sp.

You already have a Si civic. I'd go for something more spacious like an accord, unless the wife disagrees strongly :P

definatly dont trade...sell privatly...prolly could get a better buck then what dealers like to rip u off...and id say accord cuz i got an 97 si and my moms got the 2001 accord and they are quiet perfect for long trips...its like the luxury of an acura but paying a honda price. imo

I would see what you could get for trade in. When I traded my 06 4dr EX I got around $24k. I tried to sell it privately for about a week and all I got were low ballers ie. $18k etc. **** it traded in. A lot less hassle.

He has another post stating his insurance went from 120 a month to 59........ I think he will be keeping the car now.

Assume you want to trade in/get rid off regardless.

Then I would get the Accord, a car that doesn't need to get modded because you have the Si already. I don't know if the car is fast enough for you but it should have a good punch to it.

But if you want a faster car, then it is only logic to use the money, and buy a already modded/swapped hatch/coupe and let the wife have the Si.

Mod one, leave one alone. Or have a fast stock car, and leave the other one stock.

I'll be visiting my dealership on Wed to crunch some numbers and check a few out in person.

it doesn't make sense to 'downgrade' now to the EK family. however IMO the EKs are the last 'moddable' Civics thanks to their suspension layout... but you don't care much about being able to mod it.

the accords have been on the car and driver top 10 for a long time. it's just a great all around car. but even so, I'd rather have a newer civic than an older accord unless I planned to mod it (and in that case I'd pick the early 90s accords).

my take on it... don't trade it now. wait a few years, there are some really exciting cars coming out in the coming years.

Yeah, like the next gen Accord. I'm alos liking the new CRV but its a little out of my price range. With my new cheap ins rates, I'll probably end up keeping the EX unless my dealership really does something for me.

I'm a huge fan of the late 1st gen CRVs... RT4WD, B series engine, many 5 spds made, and lotsa well optioned ones available. I like the fully loaded ones in white, with the hard spare tire cover.

wouldn't your cheap insurance rates apply to another car anyways???
