So I might have the opportunity to trade in my 06 EX

I have been thinking of trading in my 06 EX Coupe. I do like the car, but compared to my Si, it's quite boring and I'm not overly fond of having 2 of the same cars anyway. I have been thinking about something more practical, both in terms of size and price to replace the EX. Nothing is carved in stone, but I am exploring my options.

The Honda dealer that I got the EX from has a few cars I'm considering. They include....

A very nice 2000 SiR.
A few 2003-2004 Accords.
A 2002 SiR hatch
And 2 99-00 Civic hatches.

All of the above have their pro's and con's, but what would you pick?

Id go with an 04 accord, but I like the way these look and my opinion.. its also a 4 door which is a little more practical.

2000 Civic SiR

I loved that car, every thing was in the right spot for me ie. radio/window controls. A gutless but high RPM B16a2

BTW: What colour and price?

However 99/00 SiR made the top two spots for thefts again this year.

Here are my thoughts...

A very nice 2000 SiR.
-Always loved them and I miss my old EK. But I'd probably want to mod it and it's not anymore practical then my 06. It's $13g's too.

A few 2003-2004 Accords.
-Alot bigger(practical) then my 06, nice options and a sweet highway car which I drive alot on. The wife hates them though.

A 2002 SiR hatch
-Again I like them and the hatchback has lots of room too. Very low k's (40ish) too and a few basic mods would make it perfect.

And 2 99-00 Civic hatches.
-Cheap and low ks. I could buy both for the price of the Accords. Hatch and I could drop a swap into it in the future. But they are so basic and option free.

My opinion you should Consider something different for a change like Toyota ?

I Have an 03 Corolla Type S and love it

after owning about 25 hondas it was time for a change

i think for future wise if you plan to expand your family i'd get a 4 door

doesn't hurt to have extra space

everyone in my family now drives a Toyota

here is a pic of my econo box

Toyota no longer offers the 'S' in both the Matrix and Corolla. Also my wife got the 07 Base Corolla as a loaner vehicle a few days ago. When I sat it in it reminded me of a 2000 chevy cavalier.

keep the si. its a waste of money you should've considered it before purchasing two of the same vehicle's. trading it is just wasting money. imo

I'm keeping the Si of course, it's the EX that I'm thinking of trading in.

well I assumed you want a car your not going to be modding, if that is the case id still say the accord..

but team rukus is right, it might be better to just keep the EX because trading is a waste of money unless you really dont like it.

Id get the EP3 if anything. Coming from a car with features, to a car with none (ie the hatch) may be tough. The 00sir isnt really worth it, if you said it was 13g's. Plus you'll have to worry about theft.

You said it has to be practical and your wife doesn't like accords......none of the above cars would be suitable then.

Well the wifes' opinion doesn't matter as much because I will drive it more. She's just not overly familiar with driving a bigger car thats all.

The EP is a hatch though and with the seats folded down it can be quite spacious.

I'm going to drive them all this week and see what kind of prices I can get.

I would try and look for an 2002 SiR with the Wings West package.. I think 03 the SiR was offered with Honda GFX which was bascily a rip off from Wings West. I always though the Wings West package made the SiR a bit more aggressive than the stock egg looking shape.

if you are looking into the 4 door accord, I would suggest that you consider the tsx. drive the accord and then drive the tsx and the tsx wins hands down!
