Snow Tire Time?
Well its getting near that time...
time to pick dibs for when the snow tires go on. I know it doesn't snow until the end of December... but frost and icy roads are to be considered. I'm going with November 1st as my pick. :drivesafe |
yup i agree w/ you sam...i say nov 1st is always a safe bet
unless of course you live in london, b/c they had snow this morning and it actually stayed on the ground  |
no snow tires for me ... no winter driving for me either
*sigh*... can't believe it's time to think about snow tires again...... but i'm going with sam's choice.... nov 1 is my plan too....
I would say mid to late November would be best. Remember snow tires have a softer compound than regular tires so they will wear alot quicker on dry pavement. Even if it snows/flurries before this date, its not likely it will even stick to the ground or accumulate at all.

Third weekend of October for me....
      i AM ALREADY ON SNOW TIRES
my snows are on now.... its way too cold out for summer profile tires.
Mid Nov for me
I'm with you JookSingKid. Nov 1st.
rule of thumb on during thanksgiving and off at easter.
shouldn't that be vice versa ?
one more week for the Civic, then it's up-up-and away into storage. In that week of time, I need a new rad for the winter car, and buy winter rims/tires for the winter car too... at least... plus oil change to 5W30 as I'm running 10W40 in there now.

is it bad to have a carbon fibre hood on in this weather ?
rice... yes
joker, yup, one more week... the car has seen enough kms this year... it's ready for storage. Plus my upper ball joints need replacing (so I'll let it sit as it is until springtime) and I'd like to drop the exhaust manifold in order to have the flange copied for a turbo manifold, so I want to do that before snow hits. |

well, thanksgiving is coming up and you said on.
Easter is in april i think and you said off. To me that sounds a lil backwards.. Or did I not get enough sleep ? |
wait wait, your talking about SNOW TIRES. I was thinking about summer tires, and taking them off. NEVERMIND !
All-seasons work fine for me. I can't justify purchasing winter tires for this area of Ontario.
