Slight Rattle Noise

Slight Rattle Noise

arite i have my 1st problem with my EK... i notice if im in a closed in area (easier to hear the noise) IE.. underground/garage.. when i release my clutch i hear a very faint rattle noise but when i press it in it goes away .. i noticed this rattling a little bit back but wasnt sure what was causing it .... any ideas ??

my guess is clutch release bearing...
Try resting your foot on the clutch pedal and see if the noise goes away.

well as i said if the clutch is engadged it goes away .. i dunno about just resting it on it i havent tried that yet .. ill giv eit a try when i head out for lunch .. any other ideas ? i will have to tak my car in for a checkup (oils / MTF all the goods) so who knows that might fix it

so its a normal thing ? or something that a checkup will be able to fix up ?

ok if it makes noise while the clutch is engaged, it is most likely input shaft bearing.

if it was making noise while disengaged, then it would likely be clutch release bearing.

i also have the same problem. suppos. its a common problem on 6th gens.

By the way .... if knowing is 1/2 the battle WTF is the other half !

Well mine stareted off as a slight noise like that and its was the same thing...foot off = rattling and clutch in = gone.......Turns out I had to change my tranny cuz it got louder and louder and louder till 2nd gear finally didnt work :\

Could even be a loose pedal (not the pad). I've seen that happen before.
