SIR production
I just recently bought a Civic SIR and the salesman told me that the SIR is only going to be produced for 2002 and will stop production for next year. Can any one tell me whether this is true? If that is the case is it because the Type-R is coming over?

If the CTR comes over, damn, its' gonna cost more than a RSX Type S! :p |
I've never heard about the SiR only being for this year. I doubt they would bring the CTR over either as it would end up competing with the RSX Type S for sales, but who knows, Honda does strange things.

I was told the same thing when i bought mine. I plan on doing all the mods that the type R has from the factory.

This is a stupid honda move, but it's not like they haven't done crap like this before.......killing the CRX....killing the Si EG6 hatch.....killing the prelude.
I really have to wonder how at times.... despite their best efforts to screw up.... they maintain their import scene dominance |
90EFHB: The CRX never died in '91. It became the Del Sol in '93.
Well around the rest of the world it was called CRX, in North America it was called the Sol atleast. The CRX never really died until '97. But don't get me wrong Honda did butcher the CRX with the Sol. It was too fat and heavy to be a CRX really. (Don't get me wrong, the targa top feature kicks ass) As for the 5G Si hatch and Prelude, supposedly Honda cancelled due to low sales. But I agree that it sucks the don't make the 'lude anymore. It's a sweet ass car.:yummy: As for Honda maintaining the import scene, in the US Mitsubishi has a big chunk of the market and one can only wonder what will wonder when Mitsubishi launches this fall on Canadian shores finally. |
I know I'm gonna be over at Plaz's work begging for free test drives...
I luv DSM.... |

thank you for the update but.....
As far as I am concerned the CRX died in 91......the del sol is nothing like the beast the CRX was.....you can call the car a CRX but it clearly was not. The CRX was the pure form of the pocket rocket. Yes the del sol had a kick ass engine, but if you ask anyone the del sol looked more femine than the CRX (my apologies no flames needed :D ) BTW it was labelled the CRX del sol in places like Europe and also they used to call the pre 92 CRX, the civic CRX, for what it's worth....
