Both are good.
You can get parts for either from dealers, NAPA/UAP or Canadian Tire.
The SiR (B16A) came in the 99-00 Civic SiR and the GS-R (B18C) came in Integra GS-R from 94-01.

id go with G2 Racer on that one.... same... both are plentiful

I had the choice of both at one time but I opted for the SIR mainly because of the high insurance on the GSR. Another thing was the teg's still one of the most stolen cars in North America.

Having been in both cars the B18C powered car is really worth the extra coin for the engine. The B16A has no torque at all imo.
Go B18C simple as that.

However the B18C isn't insane either imo. To get insane from an n/a Civic you need an H22A or built B20VTEC. Those are insane.
Or just go completely nutty with a B18B or B20B turbo.

I was using the JDM codes. Even if it's a JDM motor the parts from the USDM are interchargable. Stuff like oil filters, thermostats, gaskets, spark plugs, etc. To my knowlegde is all the same on the USDM and JDM enignes.

why turbo typeR
turboGSR would be just as good

expecially if you want to build the engine, its just extra cash you waste

I'm with Chigga1, LS + Boost = lots of fun.

Boosting a B18C-R or B18C5 is hard to to the high compression.

Since you have an EG go for GS-R brakes.
