Simple mods

I bought my car a while back
96 civic DX coupe

Wanna start moding it bit by bit

I have no idea where to start tho...
so manythigns to do...

Anyone can help me out on sum simple mods??

basic ones...

imported_ERTW 12-Apr-2006 06:54 PM

the best advice i can give you is unless you REALLY know what you want, save your money.. if you dont know what to put on and have to ask people about it, you don't need it

save your money up and in the future upgrade the car to something else instead dumping money which you will never see again

Cheap "mod" DIY headlight mods, remove amber reflector, paint housing.

Xscorpio 12-Apr-2006 07:51 PM

start off with bolt ons.
-intake
-headers
-exhaust/ or just muffler.

mind you, you have Y7 motor i believe you will not feel a thing with any of those mods if you are looking for any gain.

it will sounds cool thats about it.

then do up suspension
-lowring springs or coilover sleves (if you r on tight budget)
-full coilover (if budget is not an issue)

then by rims/rubber

then do ext
-full lip kit (if tight budget)
-full body kil (if budget is not an issue)

then int
-racing seats
-gauges

etc...

hope this helps and give you some ideas to focus on.

thx for reading!

:dito: a car can look hot just dumped depending on what else you have. drop it then lip kits then think about other things would be the easiest route. or like ERTW said, if you need to ask others, save up the money until you really know what you want. research until then so you get what you really want and won't regret it.

kwasley 12-Apr-2006 08:46 PM

just dump it

SiR b16a2 12-Apr-2006 09:32 PM

yeah same, drop the car first, wether it be on springs or struts, u have to drop it. Just by doing that your call is going to look so much more aggressive

chris_si98 12-Apr-2006 10:14 PM

drop the car with some good quality parts.

And learn what you are putting on before you put it on, and research it.

ie. lowering the car will result in an alignment

Yellow_hatch 12-Apr-2006 10:23 PM

ya lower it man put some lips on nice exhaust and do some engine mods bro

look around, decide what you want to do, research it and make up your own mind is all I can really say..

DROP> DROP>DROP>DROP..what more could i say...
Drop it...then work on it from there..

xplicit r34 13-Apr-2006 03:14 PM

drop it like itsss hottt :)

Nova_Dust 13-Apr-2006 03:59 PM

Just to make the car look good, lower it a bit, give it a good wash, and keep it clean (as in, clean)

Majority of us that modify our cars are simply wasting our money for nothing (not competing for life, race for life, modify cars for life.. etc) so if you have spare money that you don't know what to do with, ya put some into your car.

Chigga1 13-Apr-2006 07:06 PM

just remember one thing - if u want to do it... DO IT... meaning dont hum and haw about it... when u buy things one bit at a time.. it means business.. goodluck!

antrmo 13-Apr-2006 07:38 PM

sounds like u should lower it ,lol ,then intake and exuast ,in my opion,,ull get some xtra horse, better throtle response and gas milage,,not sure y someone said ull get no horse just cause of ur engine? maybe thrier right but i dont think so.

mikey82 14-Apr-2006 10:11 PM

get aftermarket spark plug wires and new spark plugs. IMO youll notice more of a differnece than getting an CAI or SRI.
