1. Buy a stock civic. an SI is not your best choice, its more for insurance and its just not worth it, start off with a (96-00 DX or CX)

2. PPL in civics get pulled over, cuz of their RICE exhausts, paint
jobs, body kits, etc... POLICE don't like it and they simply pull people over cuz they can, and they profile every civic driver as a street racer.

3. Dont drive like a idiot, trying to race everyone just cuz u own a civic. And the police wont bother you

4. Save up money, and keep the car stock looking, people choose JDM parts because they are OEM etc... look into it, OEM parts attract less attention, if you are buying a civic to pick up brawds, or race, then you'll get your attension from police as well.

5. Drive safe, and be responsible.

I find that you get harrassed by cops less than the kids in civics, cavaliers, sunfires, etc. trying to race you, cut you off and stare you down all the time. It gets really annoying and give cars like the civic (a very reliable and fun car to drive) a bad name.

Dont go extreme on ur mods and drive while being conscious of the law and GAS MILEAGE and cops wont bother you.

cheers!

i have a eg civic si. i bought one when i was 17 (i turned 18 like 12 days ago). honestly, if you're gonna insure it yourself, be prepared for rape. i got quotes for like 4000-6500 a year third party with a clean record... if you can insure it under your mom or dad, it'll be alot cheaper, like 1500-2000 etc.
good luck dude

1. depending on the model you will get your aszz handed to you by insurance. I pay 7500 with Dominion of canada. (does anyone know a less expensive company?)
and I am 21 with clean a clean record driving a sir.
2. Getting pulled over is only a problem when you drive like a crazed teen with excessive road rage. And I agree with the statements above. Rice + Civics = unwanted attention from everyone including cops. Thats just the stigma attached to civics.

Keep it clean and nice. I love all the clean nicely done civics driving around T.O.
Civics save gas ( i think) lol and they never break - well if you take care of them

What other car would i prefer to drive that has a lil pep decent on gas reliable and affordable (except insure) ? non other than the civic. That what i tell people and that's what i'm gona tell you.

Re: Re: Re: should i buy a civic?

i started with a civic as well, it was a 1992 ex it was a great car, at the time it was only a few years old and it was a hand me down from mom. maintainace isnt too extreme on hondas, you just have to be a responsible driver. nothing worse than people who drive like crazy and complain that this and that broke, or that they already have to change brake pads etc etc. (i have lots of friends like this )

When you're 16 you're going to get pulled over, period. Just behave, and you've got nothin' to worry about.
Not really. Why do ppl assume? the only time I got pulled over was when the cop saw my sticker was exxpired. jus cuz ur 16 doesnt make u cop bait... i dunno why i guess its just me but cops dont harass me. Then again I dont drive like a maniac
