Short Or Cold Air Intake?

Should I go for the cold air or short ram intake? Keep in mind this is going to be for a daily driver, so does one have disadvantages over the other? I tried the search feature but couldn't come up with anything...

it does not really matter in the grand scheme of things.. they all basically make noise.

i have a cold air AEM, and it does look good in blue. i don't feel any difference when i take off the second tube and run it as a short ram.

Cold air intakes should not be used in the winter. Slush tends to build up on the filter and then gets sucked into the engine ka blam blown motor.

I've had both and I couldn't find any difference. The short ram was louder, but the performance felt the same. It does get dirtier in the winter, but you'd have to drive through an awfully deep puddle to suck in any large amount of water. I've gone back to my stock airbox and I have an ITR one for next summer.

I like the CAI , I 'd had one for six years now with no problems what so ever and I drive with it all year round . I like the fact that the motor is taking in cold air rather than hot air ....

I'm sure theres a performance gain once the car get up to speed...

I like cleaning it just before winter and once it's spring...

Get a 2piece kit if your are worried and change it to the Short ram during winter and cold air during summer. IMO its not worth paying the $200+ to get an AEM system when the knocks off arent that far behind.
