Normal driving, I'll shift around 3000-4000rpm. If I want some fun I'll shift around 5500-6000rpm.

If I want to beat the crap out of it then I'll shift just a few 100rpm before redline.

loudsubz, there is so much up there that you're missing!!!!! fawk it, so the car will last 10 years instead of 11... who cares. rip it once in a while. we won't tell anyone. that car begs to be driven.

I shift at 3000-3500 normally, though when I first put in a tachometer in my car, it was like finding an extra 25 hp. I remember the first time I went to 7200 rpm it was nearly erotic, the sound or 16 valves working in harmony, the thrill of finding that extra 2000 rpm... yes... I remember the day.

your suspension is absolute garbage, throw it away and bolt in Hotchkis parts.

Wow, everyone seems to baby their little Hondas. I hit 7000+ about 3-4 times a day while commuting. I have another year left on warranty and even on my own dime the engine is pretty much disposable. If I break my d16 I'll be sad, but then I'll get a b18 and feel better.

in First I'll commonly see the shift light coming on during normal street driving thats set at 6,000 RPM

for other gears I ussually shift at around 5,000 rpm... everyday day in day out.. only time I'd baby it is if I was looking for traction on a rainy day or something like that

absolute garbage?.....lol my car has energy suspension bushings all around, bbk upper control arms, and lakewood traction action lift bars that were jsut installed a few weeks ago, im assuming you thought the cars suspension was stock cuzz the suspension in it is anything but garbage, its sjut not easy planting all the power and torque to the ground on a 245 bald tire..

haha, ok... that's not bad, but it can still be better. Have you noticed an improvement with the Lakewood bars?? cuz those are a very low tech way to improve, essentially all it does is control axle wrap under torque (which is NOT your problem cuz you have bald tires like you said)... what you really need to harness those ponies then, is a 4 link setup in the rear. I know it's a big investment, but its the only way.

PS: Mustangs make me oh yeah

anything less than 3,500 in a d16 civic and your bunging your motor up with carbon, and your milage will slowly get worse over the years. shift at 35-4 grand, theres more torque there for city driving and your motor will stay cleaner. I like shifting at 4-5 grand, its the best economy VS fun ratio (peak torque in a d16 is around 55 )

yeah a 4 link would def be the best all out way to go, but for what i wanna spend its not to practical, to b honest the car feels the same as it did b4, which i kow is b/c of the tires being to small and bald for the kidna power im putting out...if i decide to keep it im gonna look at stuffing a 295 or something out back with a drag radial.

Civic's should be shifted between 3500-4000 rpm generally.

Shifting @ 2500 puts a load on the motor and the clutch.
