Share your first time experience of getting a traffic ticket

This thread is for anyone that wants to share their first time moment when they got pulled over by cops for speeding, violation of some sort....anything that you want to share...this is so that people that've gotten into trouble with traffic cops for their first time, they have something to go to and feel comfortable letting go of the first time incident...or for some people this will give them some sort of guidance to what they can do next about their tickets.

My first time getting a traffic ticket was so horrible....i can still re-live the moment like it happened yesterday

to start off, it was my first time driving in downtown toronto..and i was soooo lost...it was raining and my defogger wasnt working either..i hated driving that day cuz stupid taxi drivers tailgate you, cut u off, ppl jump infront of you car out of no where...so all this was going on while it was raining...and since i was lost and most roads become 1 way..i was going to pull into this bus only route thinking it will get me back on dundas st...once i saw the do not enter sign..i paniced..and my tough luck it was at an intersection..and the light turned red..and i was half way through the light and even worse, there was a cop parked on the on comming direction...so i stopped half way though the light LOL
this stupid lady cop, she was jus so focused on giving me a ticket, she dint even care to ask what happened or cut me a slack that it was my first offence...anyways put it to court and it got dropped...but finding my way back home was a mission and I was so tensed and felt like the sky's falling LOL

think my first one was an 80 in 50 zone out in lasalle back in mid-late 90s. i was going out there in my 88 turbo grand am to check out an 85 audi 5000 turbo parts car for my na audi. coming back the road transitioned from an 80 to a 50, and i totally didn't notice it, so i kept it at 80. needless to say, cops were swift to point out my oversight. well, that opened the flood gates... from then to about 2001ish, i had numerous tickets, including one of the early red light camera tickets and a reckless driving charge (or careless or whatever the charge was). that one was a biggie and cost a lot of money. another big one was 160 in a 100 zone, but cop dropped it to 140 or something like that on the spot.

my buddy, first time getting pulled over - he was doing 190+ in his chipped VW VR6. luckily, he knew the officer.

oh yeah, pleased to say, no tickets since about 2001ish... i had one that wasn't an hta violation, it was a local bylaw violation, kinda like a parking ticket, but even that was 5 or 6 years ago.

oh my...i know what you mean about speed transition on roads...its so wierd how it happens..how do they expect you to slow down from 80 to 50 so quick..and the trick is..they dont even have much speed signs on country roads etc...
it gets tricky driving from toronto to montreal..the speed keeps changing and you just lose your attention span in that long drive.

so far i've had that one stupid red light ticket, and 3 speeding tickets...one just recently 2 weeks ago..i got a roadside break by the cop..i was doing 75 on a 50...he dropped it to no points 52$...but the first time tickets are always so bitter

First time was back in I think 1998 or 1999, I was driving my 92' Escort. I went through an intersection that had a sign that didn't allow you to go through at certain times of the day.

After I went passed, a hidden cruiser came out and gave me the ticket for disobey sign. Nothing really much I can do, just had to pay it.

My first ticket was a tint ticket for 110 dollars last november

I was going over to tim hortons in my first break, the cop had already pulled someone over and was givin the person the ticket. As soon as I passed by him he got on his vehicle and pulled me over..

a couple years ago..i decided to wait 6 months to get my sticker renewed for my plate, yet still drove around. The night before i went to get my sticker, i was driving through a parking lot with a friend of mine as we left from having dinner. As i crept out of the lane way only to find a cop creeping his way through the lot, I kindly waited for him to pass as i would have followed him out, insted he sends he the high beems for the ``go ahead``...left with no choice but to lead (and expose my unvalid sticker) i did just that. Trying to act casual, i pulled into the closest parking lot which happened to be a gym. We go out of the car and proceeded to walk into the gym. soo, the cop pulls up... calls my name.. and we stood there discussing how i went for such a long period of time without getting caught. He said he was completely shocked, and actually laughed about it with me. Annnnnddd handed me a $110 ticket..LMFAO

First ticket was the worst one yet *knocks on wood* in 08 summer. My brother picked up a 97 prelude and next day both of us were leaving at the same time and decided to race down Jane (just north of major Mackenzie), yeah I know stupid...and it was at 11am or so. Flew by a cop at 160 in a 60zone. Panicked once I saw the cop pull out of an interection I passed with flashers on, so decided to take some side streets ASAP lol. After few right turns I realised I was fuked so just stopped. Got cuffed and so did my brother since he followed me. Cars went up on tow trucks, but after chilling in the cruiser cuffed up for about 40 minutes, got let off with a careless driving ticket since our speeds were never recorded. Then went to my lawyer and the whole thing got dropped due to insufficient amount of evidence.

Totally stupid and have never been pulled over since then for speeding. Was ticket free since then till January of this year. In 15 days got 3 tickets. Rolling a stop and my insurance slip was expired, then for no seatbelt.

My first ticket was actually dodged! Yes that's right. It was so wrong I SHOULD have gotten a ticket.

So I owned a DSm 2ga 95 tsi awd at the time. It was about 10pm-11pm on Erin Mills parkway near the Creditvalley hospital. I'm doing about 120 in a 70 zone in 2008. Female cop pulls me over. She asks why I'm over 50km of the speed limit. I explain to her with abit of acting that I normally speak with my grandmother at a certain time everynight and tonight she didn't respond so I'm racing (this was actually my mistake to say this exact word lol) over there to make sure she is ok.

She gets the usual. I have a clean record and she comes back with a warning! She tells me to take a drive into the Esso gas station up ahead and call her lol. She was amazing. I generally love Peel because they treat you like a human being. I pulled into the precent on Dundas and Erin mills prkway and this supervisor gave me a large (still hot) hot chocolate from timmies!

My actualy first ticket was a careless driving for passing someone on a two laned street on a solid line. Short story is I got a paralegal to fight my six point ticket. Cop didn't show up (it seemed like it was his buddy) and I was off the hook. That ruling saved me acouple of g's in the long term lol. Best $500 I ever spent.

no thank god it didnt go towards my insurance.
the cop gave me the ticket and just told me technically he was "supposed" impound my car.. and/ or suspend my license.. BUT he just indirectly told me to take the ticket to court and he wouldnt be there. and he told me "go home"
good thing he was nice and thought it was funny.. and wasted a half hr standing there talking about it and other retarded s**t seen.
i guess i was lucky

First ticket i received was back in 2004 and it was for careless driving... i was leaving work and heading up the DVP just exiting onto the 401 express and was cruising along talking to my gf at the time via my earpiece and relaxing due to the fact the car was running on gas fumes.. tank on E .. i figured i could make it to markham road exit which is my usual exit... whilst driving a this guy in a huge pick up truck cut me off and his rear bumper scrapped across the front of my bumper and left a whole in it , out of instinct i swerve onto the shoulder to avoid any further damage... by the way the front of the car was dropped 4 inches...he pulls off trying to get away i downshift to go after him and the next thing i see were the cherries in the rear view mirror.. i thought they were going after him but they tagged me..the officer said he was following me and pacing me since yonge.. but when i told him i came off the DVP and i never passed yonge he began to get ignorant.. so i just let him be... along with the careless driving.. i got a speeding ticket, improper muffler ticket and failing to signal ticket..for a grand total of 9 demerits and $900.00...

talk about shitty luck... i fought them and won them all..thank god.

and that's my story..
