Shall i get a 06 civic or 02 ,03 RSX?
I have 20k budget, looking to get a Honda.
I like the Look & Performance on RSX, but the interior look of new Civic is also just a Wow. Not to mention they all have i-VTEC now
If you were me, with 20K, would you get a brand new civic or a 02 03 RSX with around 70000km?
Any inputs are appreciated.

depends if your getting the sir civic or not..
i'de rather get the rsx-s.. in white.. with oem kit and just slam that ****..
plus..to make the rsx go faster is a lot cheaper since they already have the hondata flash4 available to them, as opposed to the newer rsx/civics.
you can get another 20-30 hp from just the hondata flash, and an injen cold air intake..

My wife and I are also facing a similar dilema, but for an 06 Civic or RSX. She likes the RSX and I like the Civic. The RSX will probably cost more to own with higher insurance rates and maintenance costs, but I think the RSX is a nicer higher-end car. The Civic is a newer, fresh design with lots of potential I think.
Like TR mentioned, you won't get an EX or Si Civic for that price. Also consider that the new car comes with a nice warranty, where the used one does not. I also remember reading that the earlier RSX's had problems with the tranmission.

Get the rsx-s though with your $20,000. It's just like what Team Rukus said, if you buy a new 06 it will be the base model.

you guys are great....
yeah, with 20k, i can get a type-s with 70000km, get me going for 2-3 years until i am ready for the next car.
for civic, i don't know, less power, less maintenance, less insurance, BUT I hate to pay the extra tax on the new car.
i am leaning towards RSX now, but let's hear some more

Why are people assuming the new civic will be less insurance, less maintanence etc???
its a new car, parts are going to be expensive.
its a new car insurance will be high unless you live in a good area with low accidents and theft rates.
no aftermarket availability
and no proven maintancence records yet.

I mean maintenance like simple things. Premium gas, Acura parts are more $$$ then Honda, etc. A 4 year old used car is definately going to require some repairs. Brakes and suspension components, tune up, higher k services like belts, plugs, wires.
I'm just guessing insurance will be cheaper because it's a Civic vs RSX rate.
