sealed batteries?

i beleive those optima red and yellow tops are sealed? anything else comparable that is also of the sealed variety?

definately not running any sterio or nothing to require the yellow top, but anything else out there or would the redtop be my best bet?

yeah, there are these ones called.... ah crap I forget now.

but there are these other ones for MARINE use at Canadian Tire, they are the blue top batteries. Just call around to a bunch of battery places and tell them you need a sealed battery. Be ready to pay $200+ for one of those though, so that's why I say the redtop from Price Club/Costco is your best bet!! (like $190 tax in if I remember right when I bought mine)

CT has their own spiral cell tech batteries for a good deal as well, usually around $130-140

already looked into that... according to optima's website 33 lbs is the lightest of the 12v... though the heaviest is 38 or 39 lbs so not that big a deal either way...

i work for a battery company and for situation in my opinion you should get the red top optima battery. keep in mind that optima batteries are not gel cell batteries. they have acid but they are wrapped in a j-cloth type material that wraps around the cells and the biggest advantage is, is that it is sealed.

those light weight batteries are meant for race cars that are not daily driven. if the reason for wanting that light weight battery is that u wanna lose weight off of the car then i think you should look elsewhere. cuz like i said the red top optima battery is a great option and u should relocate it to the trunk and u r set and it frees up some much needed room in civics.

I'd be in, I have the full sized Optima Yellow Top in my car from my car audio days and now that I'm into autocross I don't need a 40lb battery...

Maybe we should ask a TCC affiliate or vendor to get these for a group buy?...
