Scared if York parking lots.
hey guys/gals, . . . just thought i'd warn some of u. . .
my friend's car just got broken into at York University. . . she parked at 3A sometime during late afternoon. . . she had like one of those short lectures n when she came out, her car was like smashed up. . . .her windows were broken and they stole her stupid face plate for her stereo. What idiots, . . what the hell are u gonna do with a face plate if u dont got the entire thing? . . . errr. . n to make it even worst. . they were such cheap asses, they even stole her burned CD's!!
Anyhow, . . just becareful with your car if u have stuff in it. . . especially if u got real expensive stuff. . . . :cry:

i wish they'd do something with the security of the parking lot. maybe someone could get together a group to reflect what the situation is like in the parking lot and do something to pressure York or whoever that's looking after the school parking into beefing up the security.

u planning on getting a parking pass??
if so, make sure u get one at LUMBERS. They have gate parking for like 350$. Its pretty good.
Anyhow, there's nothing to be afraid of if you only have day time classes. . . . like from morning till 6:00pm.
The worst is if u got classes from 7-10pm. Those classes are a B*TCH, especially if your parking real far. Just get the LUMBERS LOT parking. . thats the best, . . . its got gates n its in the middle of the school so ppl pass by 24/7. . . so for sure no one's gonna touch your ride.
Or u can park at the STACIE BUILDING. That lot gots gates too n lot'sa lights!!!!

Hey baby_gurl, i know of 7 other cars of my friends who have had their windows smashed and their deck stolen one of which his face plate was taken, these are not very smart thieves but they sure know how to break into ****. Its all happening in parking lot 3A. Just wondering if you can tell me when hers happened???/ Would by nechance have been on a Thursday btw the hours of 11am to 2pm. I'm sorta working on somehting with the skool security b4 skool ends and i'm finding a nice lil pattern of how they're working. I spoke to the skool and district 31 police division and they said they did not have the resources to use to catch these guyz. They recently foudn acar involved in three of the break ins at York oly to find that the car they used was also stoln, so i have proposed to do something with the help of some security gaurds (can not say names) in order put a stop to all this.
pls if you can PM me with soem details about how they got into her car?where she was parked?wut daya nd approximately wut time it happened?

1- Pls do not leave any visible valuables in your car when parked at skool parking lots.
2- Keep you eyes open when driving aroudn parking lots for wierd looking things, such as two plp standing beside a car. these guyz look like students, who have skool bags and are dressed like students. They could even be students at are skool. I have followed up on a couple of reports of students calling in and saying ho they muight have seen someone suspicious in the skool parking lot but only to afte tell me that it was a couple of days ago. That frustrates me b/c as we all know 90 % of the student carry cell phones and they can save someones car by making one phone call, even if they are wrong they have absolutely nothing to loose, so therefore if you see somehting suspicious, do not get involved, just cause these guyz are ready to get caught therefore they are prepared to get out
of the situation under ne circumstances, if you know wut i mean.
3- Do not leave your car in a parking lot for excessive amunt of time.
4- Do not make a certain part of the parking lot your usuall spot.
5- Stay away from arking beside high cars such as vans.

There was an article in Excalibur (York's school newspaper) a few weeks back about how bad the car break-ins/thefts have gotten. They have this little "Crime Report" article and it was written up about in that.
I remember that they were saying that Honda Accords and Civics were the most targeted so just watch out. Like, Civic GQ said, don't leave valuables in plain view and take the face plates off your stereos and stuff, then it'll help but if a thief really wants your stuff; they'll get it. I guess that that it's just common sense and should apply to any where you go.

Yeah.. For sure.. CD Player Faceplates should not be left in the car under any circumstances IMO. I only leave mine in the car when at a TCC meet and my car is in eyes view at all times. Besides that I never leave it in the car.

use someone's car as bait, then sit around in someone else's car with a good view of the bait, when you see someone looking like he's gonna break in, jump out and beat the crap out of him, and steal his wallet.. find out what car he drives, and smash up his car.
make sure you catch him on film

make sure u dont blast music when driving on campus...the less attention u bring to ur car the better....and like they said...always take your faceplate..the only time i leave it on is at a meet when i'm like 10 feet away...my cars been broken into once...took all my cd's and even opened and ate a bag of jolly ranchers:fustrated ..lukily i had the faceplate with me
