saying goodbye

i am leaving canada and moving to China, next month. i have decided to sell my car. that was a hard decision to make, and i have been avoiding this day for a long time. i love my car, it's a 96 Civic CX hatchback with no power steering, no a/c, absolute base model, the clutch is stiff as ****, but i still loved her like it was a Porsche. i didn't treat her too well though. there are some minor bumps and scratches, a huge noticable black spot where i sanded off the paint on the driver side of the bumper due to a hit and run. some minor dents here and there, but no rust.

i bought her in October of 1999 just a few weeks before Jeff got his SIR. Jeff learned to drive manual in my civic, in fact, many of my friends first time driving manual was in my civic. (i've taught many many people in my car, that's probably why the clutch is messed).

i originally wanted a 91 CRX SI Special Edition, but it was a bitch looking for it, after over a month of continuousy searching the net and autotrader magazine, i gave up. so i told my dad to just look in the autotrader and find me a car, any car. at that point, i didn't care what i had because looking for a car was too tedious work and i'm a lazy ****. my dad found a 96 h/b civic with 44,022 km on it for $11,000, next day we went to morningside/sheppard to meet up with the guy, i took her for a test drive and i was happy. talked him down to 10 and took it home.

when/if i come back, i am comtemplating on whether or not i should buy another hatchback of the same shell. i like that 6th gen shell a lot. i will be sad the day i hand over my ownership to the new owner.

that's my story

Its always cool to hear stories of people and their cars.
I wish you well in China, and I'm sure you'll find the right car when you're ready

Take lots of pictures!

 Yea, I loved that car too. I only stalled on it once, right? I'm sure you'll get top dollar with all those custom/homemade mods you gave it.

And when/if you come back from China, you can afford something with A/C and power steering.

i'm going back to china for reasons i will not disclose, but i will be there for at least a year.

i am going to travel in between Fuzhou and Guangzhou on a regular basis. and yes, i will be getting a bicycle there

the car, i don't know what it's worth at the moment, but i'm thinking if i want to get rid of it fast i'll have to go as low as $7,500 or something.. or maybe i should give it to my dad so he can get a trade-in for his Highlander that he wants.

i'll be rollin tonight to the meet in my dad's white 89 Accord with Hybrid sticker on it, so say hi to me

!
