salvaged cars

hey i tried posting this in the discussion but i couldnt

anyways i wanted to know when a car would be declared as a salvaged car

im looking on websites and im seeing 05 corvettes for 18000 with only front end damage so if vettes (for discussion sake) are worth 60000 that means that theres nearly 40 000 dollars worth of damage?

just a bit confused because i can pick up an 08 stang gt for pretty cheap but i dont want to be left with a piece of junk thatll cost me 30 000 to repair

The reason those damaged vettes are so cheap is because nobody wants to buy them. They are probably damaged beyond repair and are only good for parts. It doesn't necessarily mean they have $40,000 in damage.

What a car is worth and how much $ in damage to a vehicle are 2 different things.

^^What he said...unless the vehicle has a lot of parts that are still good and usable that you need. Otherwise, don't bother.

airbag is a part... Its labour thats gonna kill u with repairing that car... and it wouldnt have ANY resale value. Also, i personally would hate knowing my car was a wreck in the past.
