Rust in engine bay...need advice.

Im looking at purchasing a 00 sig. the car has 95000km, the exerior and interior is spotless no rust or just 1 small scratch on the rear bumper and the interior is flawless.....however the engine bay has rust on power steering and ac lines...some bolts etc... the cardrives great...

Ive looked at a second sig a 99 this time and the engine bay was spotless...but the interior and exteriro had some scratches...

anyways
Im just wondering if u guys know..why there be rust in the engine bay.. but not on the car...and if u would buy it or not.

Oh and the prices and km;s on both are pretty much the same.

just buy the 00 sig.
its not really rust that your seeings.
its more like surface rust, calcium deposits.
all you need is a good degreaser/cleaner and it will come out.

For $95,000 I could almost buy 5 brand new Civics!

But assuming that the milage and price are similar on both Civics, I say go with the newer one... it sounds to be in better shape and dammit, it's just newer!

Do you just spray it on the engine bay and wash it off or is there a different method?

depend on what brand and what kind of degreaser/rust remover.
for best results read the directions and follow their steps.

I just cover up my battery and distributor with plastic bags and spray some engine cleaner, let it sit and then wash off...rub it down with an old rag afterwards. not spotless, but it gets the job done.

For a Honda?

89-octane or higher. Stand back after application.
