Renting @ shannonville?

sooo, i was on the website... and to rent one of he smaller tracks is like 2200 or something.. i guess for the day... that would mean 10 ppl 220 each... roughly... thats pretty good for a day of private racing.. anyone know more about this and if its that easy to just rent it? do they give you times as well for your laps?

i would recommened teaming up with people (the more the better) cuz you dont want to do tooooo many laps either it really wears your body out.

i have been to a track day where it was only 40-50 bucks a person.

Its pending which track you looking for especially on when day..Weekends are usually more expensive then weekdays about double the amount $$.. A good 25-35 cars sounds reasonable..

jay's right, you never have more than 10 guys on the track at any one time usually anyway and even still you are usually only allowed to pass on the straight away. i've been to shannonville before as well with a group and it only cost each driver $40. i'd come up behind someone in the twisties and if they saw me in their mirror, they'd just move over a bit so i could get by. it was kinda far for me to go to tear up some tires though. i'd sooner go to cayuga.

anything more than $100 is getting up there in price for a day of lapping.

you'll need to find out if that price includes insurance as well.

I'd recommend calling shannonville,... and having more people..

I'd also strongly advise have the people coming out to the event wear helmets on the track...

yeah, but assuming it includes insurance, what is 220 for a day of private lapping with 10 other ppl.. .you may pay 100, but thats to someone that is organizing an event and making money with like 30-40 cars maybe... i dunno... so u have to wait like 45-60mins to run a lap (i dunno how long they are)... probably even longer...

i would much rather dish out the extra cash, find a local ultra 94 gas station local so i can fill up in between... and just tear it up for a day!!!

There is a Shell right at the highway intersection, the only gas station close enough to the track. So filling up is no problem.

As far as waiting, there is no issue. You get a green flag to go ahead and entre the track and you come off whenever you want. Most people do a couple laps then let the engine cool down a bit, shoot some **** then go again. As an example, for a 3 hour 5:30pm - 8:30pm full track session, if you can do 20 to 30 laps, you are good as far as stemina goes, assuming your car holds up and you can still drive it home problem free.

Last time I went, I did 8 full laps first, then 6, then 5. It drains a lot of energy out of you. Full concentration and at the same time, you gotta deal with your adrenaline so it is tough.

As far as insurance goes, I signed wavers for all the lapping days I have attended. So I guess, there was no insurance. You go and hope for the best and leave the track in one full piece.

N_D: Its a Sunoco with a diner...hehe

Having a few ppl should be good for organizing and have knowledge on whats needs to be done..Signing a waiver is a must passenger/ driver.. Average on a half track should be mini...20-35 cars...

i was doing a little more thinking on it... anyone know how long you get the track for when you rent it for the day?

would 30 ppl be too much to rent the track@ all and share it?

it depends if you are renting it from shannonville itself or you are paying sumone that's already renting it for the day....if you are renting from shannonville you get all day, and if you pay sumone that's renting it/organizing it, the hrs will vary

i dont think 30 ppl is too much to rent it and share it....like said above, not all 30 ppl gonna go on the track and race at the same time

You can rent it for full day, or 3 hour sesson. You can invite 50 people if you want. Like I said, 3 hours is plenty for most people and out of the 3 hours, if you can do 20 laps, you are getting your money worth. Not to mention some people build their car to be trailor queens, they won't keep their car on the track for too long and risk damaging the body, and the engine. So they might do less laps.

Go to Shannonville.com and get more info. In general, evening renting is 2 hours minimum. Full day can go quite early as Solo 1 also uses this track for competition.
