Rear disc conversion

Hey People,

I need someone to do a rear disc conversion for me.

I have all the parts needed, i just need someone to put it on.

BTW. its gonna go into a 97 dx coupe. so no need to hassle with ABS.

Please help me out, need price, and place.
Need to get done sometime next week.

Thanks,

Carlo

PM ME PLEASE.

This is such a noob question but here goes, are rear discs really better than the drums?

I don't know if this applies to all rear disc conversions in general but I know for the 4th gens if you only do the disc swap it actually makes it a bit worse because you have to press down on the pedal more to get them to brake like the drums did. You have to get the master cylinder, brake booster, and prop valves too.

actual conversion is very easy to do

rears are a snap

6 bolts in the rear hold the whole trailing arm on, you got a brake line and bracket, and abs line if equpped, and ebrake cable

hardest part is removing the ebrake cable from under the car, u gotta remove the heat shield or lower it in some cases

don't forget the master cylinder / booster / prop valve, otherwise bias will be all screwed up!

well.. i was reading on honda-tech..

they say that the master and booster is not required..as long as the brakes are bleeded properly...

i have the prop valve, and the whole rear setup of a 97 gsr...

any info before i start this?

its very straight forward...did mine last year... you should have nothing to worry about.

prop valve and upgraded booster will make a noticeable difference. while your waiting to put it on, save up some coin, and get some SS braided brake lines. (Earls)

And lube everything, as you put it back together.

Tip - Check out the pads and rotors, before you put it on, you may find that the rotors may be warpped, or the pads are worn.

Its a convinence factor, not that its harder to change on the car, but at least you can drive to get the parts, and then change them over after, instead of having you car out of commision for a while until you can find a ride or something.

air compressor? you a girl?

swap is easy, about 3 hours of work tops. WD40 is your friend when trying to get the e-brake grommets through the body. you can just bend the heat shield down a little, then bend it back.

if you're doing your shocks (rear) those will probably be seized...happens on pretty much every civic.

need, no, but it many cases having air tools helps 100%, after using mine for so long I hate not using them, it makes jobs so much more fun.
