quick question

Today i was with my wife at the hospital. We parked ou car in the handicap spot since my wife has a temporary permit ( usually we avoid using it ) however it was the only spot available...

We stayed about 25 minutes in the hospital came out to the car and there was a ticked in the front window.

The set amount is 450 $ for parking in a handicap spot with not permit , however when we came back we realized the permit was outside down and the cop probably did not even bother to see it and just gave us a ticked

I m going to fight it , however here is the thing. We drove my dads car since me and my dad work at the same place i just took his car and picked up my wife ( its like 1 and a half hours total to go and come back from the hospital for her check up)... So I m not sure if my dad is the one who has to set the court date or if i can just go myself dowtown and explain the situation and fight the ticket myself... M y father travels a lot because of work so he def wont be able to make it...in any case i was the one driving the car and i can prove it since we have the doctors note with the date an time of the appoinment

Another little detail is i was driving with my license expired ( i forgot that every 5 years you have to renew it) so i went today right after i got the ticked to get it which i did , i dont see how this would matter in court but hopefully it does not bite me in the ***

any advice

thanks

that sucks...
I know I use to right a lot of tickets for people that had expired permits, cuz I thought it was terrible laziness. Anyway, The ticket will go away if you callange it. I'm sure you can do it because you're in care and control of the vehicle. But I would go see the justice of the peace before the ticket options are over and you plead guilty, to make sure. Most likely you'll have to go to a first appearance, no big deal. They're people and understand **** happens.

and for your license... you should be fine... though it was rumored people need to start over at G1... but that doesn't make sense, like getting a new plate when you forget to renew your plate sticker.

thanks man

I m goi ng on monday to set a date for the trial , hopefully they can understand and drop the ticket or at least reduce it .... I was lazy to get my licensed renew , to be honest i really dont see the point of paying 75 dollars to have a license renew ... they did not even take a new picture , i just had to pay 75 and thats about it...

You DO have to go back to ur G1 if:
1: you did not have your full G license (you had ur g2 only when license expired)
2: you had ur full G, but your license expired for x amount of time before you went to renew. i dont remember how long, i think it was 6 months, not too sure.

If neither of those apply, then you just pay for renewal.
