Question regarding a dealer & Looking for Civic 2008 Sedan nose deflector part number
Hi guys Im brand new to the forums. I recently purchased a brand new Civic LX 2008 Sedan from Action Honda and I have a question.
When I bought the car the salesman promised that he would throw in the front plastic hood deflector for my car. But when the car was delivered he said he had forgotten and that he would order it for me. I made sure that he had documented that the car was supposed to come with that accessory in the purchase agreement. This was on July 30th.
From what Ive heard ordering Honda parts should only take max a week! But as of yet still nothing. Im just wondering if anyone knows if there are any loopholes that im not aware of that would let this dealer off the hook for the part owed to me.
Also I was thinking of actually calling Action Honda's parts department and inquire if they had the part in stock. Does anyone know the part number for the factory oem plastic hood deflector?
Many Thanks.

salespeople are snakes, I work at GM dealership and this always happens...but sometimes parts take well over a week to come in depending on where they have to come out of...and many times the snake of a salesperson doesnt order the actual part...give parts a call and ask them to look into one for you to buy and if they say its backordered then you will know why its taking so long...and then ask if they have an order there for you or one for new cars...that may be backordered

Thanks both of you for your help!
Yeah i just feel that im being setup because its been nearly a month since I took ownership of the car and the part STILL hasn't showed up yet.
Will definitely call their parts department tomorrow and then yell at the guy if the part is actually in.
Thanks again.

I am not sure about the deflector and how long it will take for it to be delivered, but I can tell you that when I bought my '07 Civic last year, I waited more than a month for the HFP skirt package.
The salesperson ordered it when I bought the car. I know this b/c the guy is my friend and I know he wouldn't lie to me.
Honda, however, took 2 1/2 weeks to deliver the kit. The dealership called me to bring in the car so they can install the kit. After waiting one hour they told me that the kit is actually the one for the coupe, and that they can't install it. They ended up reordering the kit. That took another 2 1/2 weeks, so in total I waited over a month for the skirt package to be installed on my car.

Lucky me its on the Purchase Agreement! Thanks!
So their parts department has it in stock. I called him and he said that he's just waiting for margins from his other deals to go through so that he could use the margin money to give me the promised part. He said that he makes no money on my deal so that he has to wait for spill over from other deals.

Thanks for all your inputs and help!
My only question that hasn't been addressed yet is whether or not there are any loopholes that would let the dealer get out of giving me my part (ie, Time limits etc). Note that the part IS on my purchase agreement.
Many Thanks
