Question... About Chipping Car

I have the new 2006 Civic Si and I was wondering has anyone ever chipped there older cars to improve the speed of the car. My friend did it to his GTI and when they chipped his car they gave him 3 settings stock mode, racing & track mode. So let me know has anyone done this to there older Civics or is anyone planning to do this if they own the new Civics?

Also anyone know where to get it done the right way for Honda Civics¡K

Anyone if would be good thanks guys! ļ

Your buddies GTI is boosted and your Civic is not, end of story. TO chip your car, especially without any other mods, you hardly gonna notice much gain not when compared to your buddies GTI anyway.

ya, if you had other mods thats one thing, but since you don't the benefit would be minimal

if you have an 06 si..u got to get a k pro.. i dont think they have it yet for your car though. intake/header/k pro shoudl give you about 25 whp... well..thats what it does for the rsx-s at least.

If you have a 06 Si and are going to mess around with it by doing any mods like this one with the computer say bye, bye warranty

The GTI is not necessarily boosted, there is a gti 1.8T but there is also an na gti vr6. But I agree that you probaly will not notice much of a gain on a stock setup.

warranty not worried about that anyways, If I am going to spend money on a car and put **** into i am not going to cry about losing my warranty when I have the money to put **** into the car I have money to fix whatever happens to the car thanks..

But anyways I was asking about chipping the car not people coming and saying that if you had no mods it wont do anything...

Chipping the car is the first thing I want to do because its nothing major and it will do atleast something... Then I will keep adding like an intake & finding the right terbo and such.

But till then anyone again know where to get it chipped...

So when you do chip your car and change all your original settings in the computer and your check engine light comes beacuse the sensors are getting the wrong readings, dont go crying to honda that the little yellow light came on.
Chipping an 06 isnt the same a chipping an ef, or eg. Theres a ton of more electronics in your car and more sensors to monitor everything, so watch what you do if you do decide to chip your 06.
P.S. If you have the money to fix what ever breaks on your 06 SI, why wouldnt you just get a faster car to start with, like a M3, or something like that, so you wouldnt have this issue?

IMO generic chips are stupid and anytime a car is being chipped it should be dyno tuned as well because every car is different especially when modded.

I'd do a few mods and then dyno tune/chip it at least.. you'll see a bigger difference then chipping it and then adding stuff after.. unless you're going to dyno tune it again after.. imo, the first dyno tune would be a waste of money, but its up to you what you feel like doing..

oh, and yeah you can do different settings if you want..

imo, why would u wana chip before mods, usually ppl chip it after mods so they can get most out of everything. chipping before will give you next to nothing gain, and you might F up your stock setup.

Hondata might be a good place to start. Try emailing them and see if they have anything available for your car.

I agree with eric, don't bother wasting your money on chipping your brand new car...

i have checked Hondata i'm looking to chip my 06 Si near the end of the summer if they have the K pro by then but like the others have said u might need some bolt on mods. myself i plan to get my CAI and Headers and/or full cat back but the thing is $$$ if i don't have enough i might have to wait till next year but for sure in the spring my AEM CAI is going in with a bypass to stay on the safe side. like DumbasSi said e-mail them, i'll just keep checking the site not in too much of a hurry but i do have to safe up some $$$ thats just my 2 cents
