Question for 2000 civic EX

I hv problem with my civic ex
my english is not very good, hope you understand what I mean

my civic got into a small accident........b4
when I drive striaght on the road, the car is slightly
goes to right hand side, so I hv to keep holding the steering wheel a bit to the left.

Therefore, I bought the car for a alignment test
then they told me the alignment was not suppose to be like that
there was a 1.X different on the rear....sth like that but they tol d me it was fixable.......after that......the steering wheel direction was better than b4.....but still ......when I go striaght, the car still heading to right abit......he told me that was dued to the road design......the road is not flat for rain go to the sides.....that's Y you hv to hold it to the left abit.......and on the left lane on highway, it should head to the left. But well I dun use to go on highway. so I am wondering does this problem happens to everyone car? that's normal?

Maybe it was the same b4 I got into the accident
but after the accident, I always focus on my steering wheel
so maybe to me it's more obvious the car go heard to the right on the road

thanx in help

Apparently roads are designed that way, I know highway turns have a slight angle to them so that they keep you planted to the road (I believe its called design speed, its the speed where you can let go of the wheel and your car will follow the turn). I think I hold my steering wheel a bit too lol, roads are never perfectly even so your always gonna get a bit of lean, I don't know how severe it is in your car tho, if it's just slight, you prolly shouldnt worry about it, That's just my opinion tho.

if it didn't have any problem before you got in an accident, it's your alignment.... spend a lil more money on alignment...

how bad was the accident? where did you hit?

I was running 60-70km on the left lane (highway) in a snowstorm ...(other car average 80km)
i thought I hit some ice near the left lane then the car start to lost control and slip across 2 other lanes and dropped into a hole, rear bumper damage(thx god didn't hit any cars while slipping) then a tow car come over and bring me up....

maybe b4 the accident I dun use to focus on my steering wheel....
, i used to use my left hand to control the steering and look further like everyone does. But after the accident I put more attendion to my steering to see if there was any damnged. After agliment test they said it was OK but when I driving at night sometimes I think kinda tired to keep holding left at some point, it's just abit but maybe that's normal if everyone else is the same

take it to a second place (one you trust) and see if they think you need another alignment

It should not be like that.... you likely have some bent steering components that would not be visible in an alignment if the printout from the alignment showed everything within spec. Check your tie rods first. Rotate your tires... find a parking lot that's large and looks flat, or simply take it on the highway and go in the left lane, then the right lane and compare.

This likely sounds like a "Lower Control Arm" problem...may have been slightly twisted in all that hitting snow, spinning, and falling in a ditch...take it to your mechanic and if he/she's well versed in his/her profession, he/she should be able to visually see a bend or stretching of the control arm...
