Purchasing a Canadian registerd JDM vehicle and bringing it to the USA.
 

Whats up guys?
Im looking to possibly purchase a EG6 SiR from a canadian owner and bring it to the u.s. Any of you guys know how hard this is? How hard would it be to cross the border?

You'd have to look into what the US laws say...

Are you driving the car across? Or towing it? I'm sure as long as the car you are buying doesn't have a salvage title the process shouldn't be too hard. Just make sure if you are driving it across you have proper coverage and you notify your insurance company your plan as to where you are bringing it.

Car must be 25 years or older to legally import into U.S.A and register for road use.

Anything less than 25 years is considered an illegal import and risks being impounded, seized or even worse crushed.

btw, I was referring to JDM and/or EDM vehicles from overseas, not Canadian spec vehicles.
