Problems With getting a new Cluster?

I have my stock cluster, but I have a b16A and of course I wanted a nice traditional SIR or SIR spec Gauge cluster with the correct redline, etc.

The Question is, when I swap to the new cluster and the KM's are different, lets say its lower. Do I have to go to the MTO and do anything special since now my car reads that there is less KM's? Is it illegal to do this?

you gonna sell the car or ???

cuz my cluster reads higher than original. i just wrote it down for my own reference but in reality I dont' give a crap. never gonna sell my car anyways, and I know the diff is somewhere in the 15K kms range.

you can go to the dealer and have them verify and note the cluster swap, then it's all legal.

No selling my car anytime soon, but I assume that eventually I may. My cluster reads over 200k right now and the one I am getting is about 60 000 km so thats a big difference. So I guess I'd have to go to the dealer and get the new one changed?

If I didn't and I sold the car, I'd be in some pretty big Sh*T I guess.

I say worry about it when you sell the car. it's not like your intent is to hide the actual mileage.

Yeah -- it's only an issue if you plan to fraudulent. I sold my car with a swapped cluster but was completely frank with the buyer...and had no issues.

roll the cluster yourself.
because no dealer will do that for you anyway.

My car is a 98 and has about 125,000 km im on my third cluster right now, first i got a si cluster (my dx one had no tach) and it read 55,000 when i had around 100,000 lol, and now i got a 1.6 el cluster off a 99 el with 202,000 km...the guy was a animal, that many clicks on a 99...but its not an issue, i keep track of how many klicks my car has and i can always roll it back to the correct km's...

if its from the same gen ...like my cx cluster swapping for an SiR cluster...all i did was remove the part of the cluster that holds the mileage and swapped it into the SiR cluster...
