Price for repair?
Yesterday my dad noticed the passanger side fender at the back of the car had fallen off a bit, because a clip that is holding it up had rusted out. Now we have a rusted out clip there, and soem more rust forming around the wheel well itself.
He got an estimate and it was around $800 to fix it all. Is this whats expected for this type of thing?

What is getting done to it? I'm getting my rear 1/4's cut and re-welded, all rust spots fixed, dents removed and the whole car painted for $3K.
$800 doesn't sound that bad. Where was the quote done?

I would find out exactly what they are going to fix for that price. If that price is just to fix that one side, then its not worth it. I would get a quote on the whole car as you likely have rust spots in several places (some that you may not be able to see yet). I used to have the exact same car and there was small rust in both rear quarters (like in your pic), under the passenger side door and the front fender.
Good luck

I asked my dad and this is what they plan to do:
-Weld in new metal in the area where its rusted out
-Fix the rust spots around the wheel well, and all the other little rust places around the car
-Repaint the areas
What are some other good places he should get it estimated at
*Were in the west end of Mississauga, and he works on Lakeshore around Park Lawn
thanks.

wouldnt rolling the lip create another "pocket" for the dirty/salt to gather in? you could never roll it so that it was completely water tight.

Just get a pair of brandnew aftermarket rear 1/4 panel
It is around $150~$170 a piece. (This is what you get when you claim insurance in an accident)
I donno howmuch it will cost you to paint and install them
but you expect around $200/panel
which is around $700 or so.
Some bodyshops won't tell you these aftermarket parts.
Since they want to make more $ off the labour instead.

I have the exact same problem. Both my rear panels need to be cut and rewelded.
Hmmm? Would any of you be interested in getting together and go to one place for some kind of group thing? Maybe we can get a better deal if we all go in together.

use the baseball bat technique.
i'll see if i can find a faq.
doesn't matter really but if you have big tires 16" up its a good idea
roll the lip after/during the repair and before paint
if done right there should be no pocket for %$&*@ to build up.
you can take the tire off and look to make sure there is no pocket as well
my 2 cents

Faq below....
Enjoy...
Rolling fender faq
you can cut at the top of the wheel well as well for a tighter roll
