Posers in the import scene.

it just bothers me 2 the deepest emotion inside of me when people pose themselves in this scene. i dont mind the whole "buying a car customized" cuz thats your thing, but like.. dont claim someone elses work. its just sad and humiliating when you get exposed. i dont know, maybe its just me, but i hate 2 c people take credit for other people's work..

Who cares? Let them do what they wanna do. If they wanna act like they did the work then how does that hurt you?

Most people in the scene are "Transumers". There are transitional consumers who are driven by emotion, experiences, adventure, etc. It's the way the new generation is.

Most of them get into the car scene just to experience it, but they have no real PASSION for it. They will stick with it for a year or two and move on. Thus they have little knowledge of cars, and no first hand experience of doing work themselves. They will take everything as it is handed to them.

Nowadays things are pretty saturated in this scene, and sometimes its good to just step back and go to the grassroots of it all. If you truly are a car guy, then its the simple basics that provide the greatest pleasure. Don't let someone elses "flash" bother you.

i'll be on my fifth car project soon, so i don't really get this post.

i started from high school when i got my first car 1989 honda accord, it had a clean body which was repainted and fixed by my regular mechanic, i kept it stock, i added a turbo and rims when i had the $$$, and thats all i could afford so i sold it and moved on to something better from the $$ i got, so the guy who bought it from me wanted a project daily driver too, he was like me only buying his first car, so i don't see your point, maybe the buyer is trying to SAVE money.

my next two cars were EF H/B first one was just for transport and to save money, by the time i got a really mint EF i had enough to put a b16, full suspension, brand new paint job, and new interior, rims and so on, later i sold that to a guy who just wanted the JDM style EF because he didn't have time to build it, and i lost money on the sale because i was desperate need for a sale and school bills.

then i drove afamily car for a while, which was killing me because i wanted to drive a manual car and go to the track, anyways later i bought a B13, slowly worked on it for a while got it prestine oem, and notthing more, decided to go J-body for my next project.

so you should look at it as if we pass our project on to someone else to complete.

it dosen't matter if they added those parts or not, they PAID for them, its like buying a oem modded M5 from the showroom, they brag about that but no one cries about it.

and 80% of REAL mod parts you can't do on your own anyways, unless you had a full professional garage in your home, so its the same thing, they paid for it, the original owner could have had those parts added professionally so he also just paid for them.

as for creativity, lol don't hate on some guy, not many people are creative just look at how many people own certain types of honda's nissans and so on.

i remember my B13 now thats creative even in stock form, how many people you know who have those in toronto.lol

ForSale, i think the OP's emphasis is on plagarism. there's a difference between paying for your mods and taking credit for the labour and work involved in installing the mods

you dont' hire contractors to build your patio deck in the back yard and tell everyone you made it just because you paid for it.

my car is better then urs...and it does mean somethin....it means its better then yours.

i dont believe the "import" scene is about modding your own car....i think its about owning an import...i'd say more of a "tuner import" cuz your the one tuning it to your specs. i know this was a rant and all and im not trying to bust ur ***** or anything. but if you dont like these people then dont deal with them, have nothin to do with them.

when i see the ones that claim others work i get more of a satisfaction knowing i did most to all of my own work. i almost take it as a compliment that i have had the chance to do all this **** and maybe others dont have the brains or the hands to do such a thing you know.

i understand that it means... urs is better than mine, but i mean i dont take it personal to the point where i claim all the mods to my import were done by me when someone else did them. thats all. sorry for the ranting and raving.
