Think about business, if your selling just computer hardware but you see software selling is making killing business, who would not stock up!

Just because you don't like the Porsche Carvena (I think), or even the SUV market than dont read about it. Its not like theres no one disliking modified civics.

Not sure if that was directed at me, but I don't have anything against SUV's. My problem is with the amount of brainless people who get caught up in the hype and buy them and don't even need them and will never even use them for their intended pupose. Whats the point, so that you can get crappy fuel economy and have four wheel drive in case it snows.

I think its so great that their building all there really powerful SUVs that move so fast....

in a straight line...

i think they should build them even taller and even more tippier, then we can have roll over contests and see how many times you can flip an SUV

I bet the Cayenne would be a real winner in that area.

I'm sure you flip that atleast 20-30 times with that type of power!

I wouldn't go as far as that, but I see where you are coming from. They are making them bigger and faster....

The problem is not the SUV's, it is the mentality of the peopl who drive them. They think they are invinceble and that they are driving an Imprezza going 80 in corners!!!

been there done that

As for the issue of SUVs, it's true, the problem is the mentality of the ppl behind the wheel, like someone else said. And JSK has a good point about tippage

But remember the Simpsons where Homer has a brother, and he builds the american dream car...yeah...that one. And the other one with the Cayonnero SUV that they had in the Simpsons...typical of what's going on right now. I mean...the Expedition with the power folding rear seats...who the fack needs that??? It's getting crazy out there ppl watch out in our little civics

Maybe in a straight line, but add some braking and turning into the mix and the SUV would probably be upside down in the ditch.

Hahaha....VW can't even get a lightbulb hooked up right, let alone engineer something. Have you ever heard of the elecrical nightmares that VWs have? PW roll up and down by themselves with the car shut off (parked at night). I've seen it first hand. Another one burned down (a friend of mine), and my bro's and my dad's Mk4s both put the driver side tail light out ever 6 months...consistently. I hate to see what else is gonna go wrong in the next few years.

The 2002 CR-V now is included with double wish bones suspensions, and a upper struct bar. It is an improvement of SUV technology but not still perfect. First of its class to recieve 5 stars from the NHTSA If you dont have experience than shut your mouth, I am sick of people ranting on SUV due to drivers who think superior of them selves. Oh forget it, why bother start another flame war.

Yes my dad owns a 2002 CR-V
Reasons: Traded in old Camry for something a little more capable of weather conditions. The Camry was not able to backout of the driveway easily, that caused a few days off of work (remember the great 199X storm). It could not carry much cargo. More comfort in the 'V, very good mpg, and reliable. Many more but who cares eh.

Whats the point, so that you can get crappy fuel economy and have four wheel drive in case it snows.
2.2 Liter Twin Cam ECOTEC Estimated MPG(1)

4-speed automatic transmission
24 city/33 hwy.

5-speed manual transmission 26 city/33 hwy.

Features 2WD LX 4WD LX 4WD EX
5-Speed Manual (City/Highway)* 21/25 21/25
4-Speed Automatic (City/Highway)* 23/28 22/26 22/26

WOW! Such a big difference!

I would say we are all smarter than to debate and disrespect a vehicle class. Wait I am unsure of that... we do not want another import vs dosmectic type of flame war. It is discussed, there are advantages and disadvantages for each class, nothing is perfect.

Don't worry, I'm from a VW family... wonder what the price tag would be. I always said, even with a lot of money, I'd rather have several nice cars than one really extreme car. Every vehicle is good at doing something. My wish list:

Honda Element
each generation of Civic (own a 6th gen - 1998)
S2000
M-B C43 AMG
M-B G500 Brabus
Suzuki Samurai (already own one - 1985)
1990 Mustang LX 5.0
Nissan 180SX JDM SR20DET
Toyota mini truck lowrider 22RE
Toyota 4x4 truck (mid 90s)
and many others

http://www.askauto.com/images/VW01.pdf

Here, this is something from the Paris Auto Show...on popularmechanics.com

It would seem an oxymoron to put a high-mileage diesel into the new Porsche Cayenne, a prospect the carmaker's chief executive officer, Wendelin Wiedeking, took pains to put to rest during the first showing of the actual SUV/sports car hybrid. (Porsche released a few Cayenne photos to the press last March.) It makes no sense to spend money developing a diesel if Porsche can sell all the gasoline-powered Cayennes it can build, according to Wiedeking. Well, perhaps for now, but German sources tell the PM.Zone that Porsche is preparing a contingency plan that recognizes the dramatic European shift toward diesels. To hold down costs, the Stuttgart sports car maker would likely turn to its longtime ally, Volkswagen, which partnered on the development of Cayenne and the similarly conceived VW Touareg. Volkswagen is expected to offer at least one, and possibly several, diesel options in its own version of the SUV.

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..

Canyonero! Canyonero!

Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down,
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!

Canyonero! (Yah!) Canyonero!
[Krusty:] Hey Hey

The Federal Highway comission has ruled the
Canyonero unsafe for highway or city driving.

Canyonero!

12 yards long, 2 lanes wide,
65 tons of American Pride!

Canyonero! Canyonero!

Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!

Canyonero! Canyonero! (Yah!)

She blinds everybody with her super high beams,
She's a squirrel crushing, deer smacking, driving machine!

Canyonero!-oh woah, Canyonero! (Yah!)

Drive Canyonero!

Woah Canyonero!

Woah!
