PLS help me out. CX, DX, SI
 

I'm planning to buy a 1992 civic hatchback CX. How much do these go for? There is a little bit of rust on both side of the quarter panel. Other than that it is pretty good. It also have a V-tec engine which is 140HP? Which engine is that does anyone know? For $2500 with E-tested and no cert is that worth buying? ( the car stated above)

Also which model is better CX or DX? What major Diff are there? How come some of these models have A/C and some don't? Are there anyone that has Power mirror and power windows? Some CX have A/C and some don't and i don't know about the DX. I know Si has sunroof and that's all. Does the SI have A/C too. Hope someone can help me out here. I'm looking for a automatic hathcback. Any year is fine but with A/X for sure.Thanx.

dx is above cx and it does not have a 140 hp vtec motor becuae i cant think of any motors that have 140 hp and vtec

if it has a vtec engine it probably has the d16z6 swaped in out of an Si model, which is more like 125hp...assuming that the car runs good seems like a good deal to me....

it really don't matter what you get...

if that car has a 140hp vtec motor... can i be a 90 teg motor being dropped in? possible? not sure....

back to the question... dx is higher than cx... but in terms of engine, no diff since dx and cx uses the same motor in canada... but they are just 102 or 105 hp from what i know... some have A/C, some doesn't? well... expect higher models to possibly have A/C... but how come some SI doesn't? well, they might have been modded cars by previous owners who done some engine work and required to remove the A/C (from my guess...) you can always buy an A/C kit or pick one up at the wreckers for cheap and install it yourself... and SI has more than just a sunroof... they have a stronger motor too! but CX/DX cheaper on insurance, that's for sure!

Also got 1 more question.

Does any Civic hatchback have power windows because i can't find one that has it unless i have to convert it. Also does any civic hatch has power mirrors too? PLS don't tell me the new SIR because i know they have it. I mean something within 1989-2000.

I don't know about 6th gens (96-00), but the only 5th gen (92-95) that came with power windows was the American EX.

the 88-91 crx S1 came with ower windows

the SIs came with power mirrors for (92+)....
for power windows... they ain't even in the SIs.... not sure about the EKs ones... but definitely not in any of the 89-95 (from what i know)

if you want to convert to power windows... a kit by spal is about 150-200 cad.... don't know if you can find a cheaper kit, but spal's pretty good
