Easy just moved it to the back of the car. I got a chance to see this kind of system used on a Tacoma. It generated 3hp less then being right at the motor. The key is to have as much straight piping without restriction as possible. I kinda wondered why someone hadn't tried it before. The company that did the Tacoma will be designing them for multiple vehicle applications.

So it actually works? Wouldn't you have to change your air filter like...everyday? What about puddles and **** if you don't live in a desert like this dude does?

The Tacoma had the filter placed behind the rear license plate in a protective housing they had 5000km on the set-up and the filter looked brand new. It sit's at about the same height as a stock one in a lowered civc. Technically speaking you could route it all the way to the front again. I believe the one in the post is in a bad spot.

That is one of the most retarded things i have ever seen.
1. guy lives in utah. how do you like changing the filter everyday?
2. Spent more money to do that and for less power. Turbo LAG Galore. as well as heating the intake air right along the exaust all the way to the front. kinda defeats the purpose of COLD AIR.
3. He aint fooling anyone. you will still see the piping going to ??? under the hood. if a cop is looking he is just gonna trace that right to the back. and it's not gonna stop the fact that a turbocharged engine sounds alot diff than one that is not.
Innovative but retarded.

think of the lag! and yes i have seen this before...

if you think abotu it why do you use ceramic coated manifolds??
to RETAIN HEAT
if the air cools down before you it gets to your turbine it will no longer have the velocity it did before becuse it cooled and now takes up less room.. case in point idle your car.... now touch the exhaust manifold (anyoen that does this is ****ing retarded i'm not responsible for people being this stupid)
it's ****ing hot somewhere in the 1200*F range
now touch your exhaust tip... nice and warm but not hot and you can keep your hand there if wanted.
there are a select few cars that this is viable on... ALL OF THEM ARE REAR ENGINE VEHICLES....

this is almost as stupid as runnign a supercharger off a driveshaft!

or those electric "superchargers" aka boat exhaust fans

The Tacooma I saw had all the pipes ceramic coated and wrapped which would inturn keep the heat in.

the charge pipe runs right by the exhaust
that doesn't make sense in terms of avoiding heat
but kinda cool. I must say i would rather have a turbo then a muffler...

I'd rock a set-up like that...underhood it looks like nothin more than a CAI...that looks like a homemade version of the actual ones made...all in all its a true bolt on turbo application

Two words -- Super LAG!!! This set is surprising used a lot here. The benefit of it is that it runs cooler because the exhaust pressure used to turn the turbine has cooled substancially from the moment of exit out of the engine and from the moment it hits the turbo. Allows for fewer turbo blow outs. Thus producing more pressure to turn the turbine. Down side is the lag. Almost a 6 second lag if set at 8psi on an Efini 2.6L. Can't imagine the lag on an ITR.

that is t3h ghay and everyone knows it. it's the worse form of boost I've ever seen, and I've seen ghetto rigged SLK superchargers on D-series.
