Secondly, why don't you tell these nice people here more about the warranty?? Like the fact that if you have to use it there is a deductible. That there is a significant amount of hassle in trying to make a claim under said extended warranty, and thats its not a complete bumper to bumper like the 3yr 60k warranty.

People before you buy extended, read the warranty agreement!!! Don't just listen to the sales guy!!

Michelle, good to see your still around on TCC, im guessing you dont remeber me, and my original post wasnt meant as spam... it was to inform people that even thoug hthe TO dealers are out of civics, that there is some outside the GTA, and I would be willing to help anyone out... im sorry if it came across as spam.

Was not my intetion to spam the forum... I lurk here more then I post...

As for the extended warranty, your right, there is a deductable, of $25 per part... thats cheap, considering, if your altenator, or starter go all you pay is $25... no labour, nothing but the $25.

As for hassles, we do warranty work all the time here, and never have customers complain, I would say thats a dealer issue, not a Honda Plus issue.

If you read your 3yr 60K its not a bumper to bumper either, its now what they call comprehensive.. it covers MOST parts of your car, examples of whats not covered, bulbs ( whch are covered for 1yr-20K ) or brake pads, or wiper blades ect ect, your normal wear and tear items. The honda plus warranty will extend this coverage, the 3yr 60K out to whatever package you decide upto 7yrs 160K... so its exactly the same as the 3yr 60K. Im lost onyour claim of its not hte same as the 3yr 60K... please explain more to me... I like hearing the feedback so I understand sometimes what people have experianced with warranties.

Every honda dealer will have a brochure that shows you what is covered by Honda Plus, or even just the basic Honda warranty... ask for it, and research it. Also compare what a warranty cost with Honda to lets say a Chrysler or a GM, youll find that Honda isnt charging you near as much, since they are confident enough to know the car is a well built car and your not gonna see a problem.

Your advie to not believing your sales person isnt all that great, but your no totally wrong, I have heard over the year alot of stuff promised by sales people, and seen alot of stuff not happen. Your right, some sales people arent all that honest.

And just incase Michelle you dont remeber me, Im the guy who came out ot a few meets a few years back with a guy in a Orange element, I also have a prelude... you might remeber us from KCC meets... and again, I would like to aplogize if your or the admin though I was spaming, was trying to help some buyers maybe find the car they are looking for, since were being told some dealers are selling into thier Feb allocations in the GTA.

My 06 EX 4dr auto was about the same price.

I got $400 off but added $400 for another 1 yr or 100,000km warrenty. Plus I got the rust proofing.

Oh about warrenty work I really think it's a dealership issuse. Pembroke honda wouldn't cover a few things on my 00 SiR, but another dealership in Ottawa did w/o any problems.

Last month I drove the 06 EX and it's a nice car IMO much nicer than the Mazda.
not getting the mazda was a very smart move
its faster, more fun to drive and seems to offer more than the civic, but when you actually price it out, the mazda3 gets quite pricey and its reliability isnt really good, and mazda dealerships seems to really be dropping the ball cuz they dont want to warranty anything.
