The suspension and uni body are untouched. Its only pannels that are damaged, but, for instance, the INSIDE of the trunk (floor/sides) are dinked so they need to be fixed as well (which makes the price higher than the car looks).
The damage is $10 500 and the value of the car (after an appraisal based on kms (only 30, 000) and pre-accident condition, etc) puts the car at almost $16 000.
Therefore, the insurance company saves like $5000 by fixing it. Its no different than taking a NEW civic and replacing every pannel with aftermarket (ie, z3 fenders, kit, etc). Non of the pannles on our car are being salvaged. They are ALL getting replaced. This means that there will be no unessesary filler, weak spots, etc.
Not to mention, we only bought this car NEW 16 months ago (on clearout when they were making room for the 03's) and still owe about $17 000 on it.
But, we have to see...its not up to us. We dont run the insurance company.......yet.

Ive already said like 10 times they are being replaced with 04 tails...sheesh!

I just hate those lights...
