Updated with poll. I'm thinking of trading in the Si for something more practical. I love the Si, but it's too small and it's not the most economical car (premium gas and insurance), sucks in the snow, etc.
Has to be a Honda. I've had some diffaculty getting out of the lease and the dealer I got the car from seems to be one of the few that is willing to help me get rid of the lease early.
I actually had my local Subaru dealer tell me it wasn't worth his effort.

easy... CRV!! I love them, they look great, they are just far along into the production cycle to have the kinks worked out, they're great in the snow (better than the SC and Accord), have hella room, etc etc. it's a no-brainer.

Accord ex , I'd go for the v6, but the 4 banger is a good car.
70L fuel tank!! WTF, why didn't we get that. I like the fact the cylinders shut off depending on your driving style at that particular moment, and I don't like suv's anymore, too big, block my view, and most people who drive them are asses, you're not an ***.
Accord uses regular gas. not premium. stylish, looks good, I'd get one if I could, maybe in two years.

accord...after seeing one of the new ones up hand they are beautiful...a guy I work with has his 08 Si in the dealer for a tranny rebuild and they gave him a 08 Accord EX sedan for a loaner and he's like "**** my civic, they can keep it cuz I'm not giving this back"

the accord is too bulky of a car to rock a 4 banger. the tsx was pushing the size limits for a 4 banger, the new accord is beyond it. it'd be like if a crown victoria came with a 4 cyl 2.3 mustang engine. ridiculous.
it might be a nice car, but i have this thing - always get the smallest car that will do the job with the biggest optional engine. never get the base engine of any car unless there is no choice.
the SC is a fwd element, which IMO defeats the purpose of an element in Canada.

CRV no doubt, my cuz has one and its roomy and really practical. he has family of 5 and no issues with any room with luggage. we have been to many long distance trips and car is great, rides nice, very comfertable indeed.
my vote goes to CRV!

I personally favour the Accord. The 190hp 5sdp one I test drove was a very nice car. Leather, navi, nice stereo, etc. It is a rather large car, but it still moved along nicely and it seemed much more solid and better built then my Si. The V6 hauls ***, but its alot more money. It's only con is its huge size, but it rode and drove so nice.
The Element SC is FWD, not AWD, but it is much nicer inside and out then the AWD version. The SC adds a sportier look and interior, better stereo, carpet, nicer seats, bigger wheels, stiffer/lower suspension, but lacks AWD. It is however available in a 5spd. The AWD version is not as luxurious then the SC and its more money. The cons for the Element are really only its looks and it was noisey on the hightway. Box on wheels I guess.
The CRV I also really like. The interor is very nice, it drove great, AWD, lots of room, quite, handled good for an SUV, but it is pricey at almost 33g's for an EX and only available in an auto tranny.

The Mini is staying, thats why. 2 small cars is such a PITA. We need something bigger and more practical.
I'd even consider an 09 Si Sedan, but the interest rates are so high. I can get an 08 Accord/CRV/Element for 0.9% or an 09 Si for 5.9%. Do the math.
The WRX I test drove was sweet, but the salesmen was such a dick.

Mike, I know you're in the market for a lease vehicle, but the CR-V gets my vote...but I'm biased, I just bought one (05 EX-L)
They are so versatile, and have a much more room than any car. They are AWD, so they'll be great for winter, they hold their value, and you can drive them as if they were civics.
If you want manual Mike, you'd have to buy an older model. Only 10% of all CR-V's sold in Canada were 5spd...so not very many.

My vote is for an Accord over the SUVs. The new Accord sedan is just so nice and refined and compared to the other two, you can get in in 5 speed, and it's not AWD, which means less gas consumption.
The CRV is nice too, but it only comes in automatic, only in AWD, and if you want a nicely equipped model, you spend over $35K. The other thing about the CRV I don't like is that it looks too girly.
The Element SC is nice looking, but I don't get why anyone would get a FWD SUV. If the Element SC would have been offered in AWD, I'd say it would have been the perfect package, unless, of course, you're concerned about the price of gas.
That's why IMO the Accord is a clear winner, especially if you can get it for 0.9%.

I haven't picked any because of your current situation with your lease, I would say to keep the Si. Why? I understand about premium fuel etc. but no matter which new car you are looking at, you are going to be spending more money than keeping the Si until the end of the lease. I can understand about wanting a bigger vehicle but how often do you really NEED one? Once a month? Maybe less? If it is less, I would say to just rent a vehicle when you need a bigger one and live with the Civic. All the other vehicles have worse fuel economy than the Si so, it would be a wash in terms of $$ spend on fuel (others use more but regular vs. less and premium).
Of the 3 vehicles you listed, personally, I would pick the Accord but I am single and live in a condo. I don't need a lot of room. If I were to go with a CR-V, I would go with FWD and get a set of good snow tires. I have driven all the vehicles and they all drive nice but none are anywhere as fun as a Civic. If you get an Accord sedan with 5 speed, it may be difficult to sell later on. Most sedan buyers are looking for an automatic. Also, when you mentioned EX, which one did you mean? EX? EX-L? EX-Navi? There are a lot of things to consider and depeding on your wants/needs/budget, only you can decide on what is best for you. So, until you can give some more criteria, it is hard to say which is best for you...and no matter what we say, ultimately, it is your decision.
Just my $0.02.
So, in summary, keep the Si and wait until the lease is up to get another vehicle. When you need a bigger vehicle, rent or borrow one.
