yep so ... if you obey the traffic rules you have nothing to worry about ... plus if you slow down you'll be more fuel efficient and therefore save money on gas

well i personally dont care cause i hardly ever drive on highways.... when they start putting them on the back roads i take to work then i'll worry....

i wonder if they will be programed to target hondas?? like it probbaly has an equation in its memory as to how often to give a ticket but maybe when it get visual confirmation that it is in fact a civic it bypasses that and just gives the ticket.... along with an improper muffler or windshield banner ticket....

i'd honestly rather just pay $100 more a year in taxes then run the chance of getting more tickets and losing my insurance... again

seriously... ah well this is the time you can everyone for voting in dalton... because who knows what they'll be set at... 121 km/h? Haven't you ever been late for work driving 130 along the highway, i'd rather have a cop pull me over than get some **** in the mail a few days later... that's just stupid, plus they're saying that the system is foolproof because you can't dispute it, the officer can't 'drop down' the charge, and the owner of the car gets charged no matter who's driving... guess you shouldn't lend your car our nowadays either... cuz if your friend gets caught speeding there goes some of YOUR demerits!!! :fustrated: !@$!@#!@$%!@#

you don't get demerit points cuz they can't prove who was driving.... you just pay a higher fine instead on the other hand, for how fast I was going, the pictures turned out really well haha

in Japan they have photo radar ....

it works well...

everyone taht speeds just goes fast enough that the camera misses taking their picture... all the cops get is a nice picture of open highway.....

maybe we should contact some dudes and ask them what the upper limit of the cameras are?

Good idea!! Now if we could only get our Civics to go that fast...

I guess that this is the same idea as those people who try to go faster than the cameras when entering/exiting the 407 so that they don't have to pay!

exactly there is a shutter speed on all cameras.... onmce you knwo that and the distance of coverage you could actually calculate the required speed......

or instead of using an actual camera they could do like a videorecording and just use still frames... but that would suck!

bruno - i didn't know about the demerits, so the owner of the car has to pay the fine... but what about going to court? i guess you can't argue that? and insurance? your insurance won't go up? lol i thought they'd try to argue that it'll help deter speeders, but if the only consequence is the cash, then it's a the worst kind of cashgrab, without any justification other than 'we want to'

yeah.. owner is responsible for how the car is used, so even if they lend the car out to someone the fine is ultimately their responsibility... kinda like 407 toll.

you can't really go to court unless your car was STOLEN and you wanted it dropped. but if the car wasn't stolen, then you can't dispute it... unless you wanted to dispute the calibration of the device. it would be a long shot, and odds are you'd lose. You could also try to have the fine reduced if you wanted. But regardless, your insurance would never find out, since ANYONE could be driving that car... it'd be impossible to prove who was driving, and insurance goes by who was driving, NOT what the car was doing.

although insurance is on the car not the owner... and if the car is commonly seen going fastwouldn't insurance like to knoiw that so that they can raise the rates of said fast automobile?

personally I think insurance rates would come down with everyone doing the speed limit

insurance is based on the driving record of the owner/principal driver, NOT how often it's seen speeding down the road. what if the driver leased cars every two years, does that mean every time he gets another car his insurance resets to regular levels?

hmmm so if i buy a new car my insurance rates are reset?? sweet deal....

theres really nothing good about photo radar aside from the government getting more money.... i dont see why they dont look at other ways of making money that dont hurt the people.... the best way for them to make money is to stop wasting it... 1 billion on the gun regestry? that money would solve one hell of a lot more problems then the fun regestry hasn't solved.... as we clearly see it doesn't work... in 2003 a boy who was 6 got shot by his sister in the head... then another boy like 8 i think got shot by his friend.... why didn't i take politics in school?
